I'm in the SPOTLIGHT & a GDT creation!

OMG.
OMG
 OMG!!

Did u see that!?!>
YUP...I'm in the spotlight at the Simply Sassy Blog this week.
Please hop over there to get a load of my answers to their questions.
How did this happen, you may ask! Well there I was merrily working my night shift at work, when I was checking my e-mail and there was a msg from the talented Maria Therese, asking if I would like to spotlit at the Sassy Blog!!!! I nearly fainted, right after I jumped up and down for about 10 minutes. Lack of oxygen I think! LOL
I immediately answered her, before the jumping part, saying YES!!!!!! EEEK!!!!
So today is the day people!
Today is also the day that I am a GDT for the Use it Tuesday Challenge blog.
Isn't the excitement just killing you right about now?!!?!
So at the UIT challenge- the theme is :

COOKING

I've used a Sassy Girl, called Sundae Service & made a cupcake to match. I KNOW I KNOW, she is not holding a cupcake, but I was aching to make one of these and what better reason than for a spotlight creation AND GDT spot!
Oh it was so much fun to make this, after the base & I got over our initial fight, I think we got along fairly well thereafter! I got the tut for the cupcake HERE on YouTube!

Sundae Service was colored with copics for the skin & hair then watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil for the rest! These are my Echo Park papers that I've had FOREVER....or at least it feels like forever as well as the chipboard  cherries! Foreva!!!! Now let's talk about all them ribbons on my cupcake......""Hello, my name is Corry & I am a ribbon holic""......so many ribbons waiting to get used, this is a terrific way to use them! And what about that cheesecloth.......well, I use it all the time, who doesn't know that!

Below are a few finer details.

{{This cupcake would not have been possible without the my newly purchased hot glue gun from Wal Mart!}}

In the picture above, the cherry is actually a red puffball (I think that's the official word for it- lol) that I coated with crystal effects & glitter then added a wire stem.

In the picture below, I added liquid applique & glitter to the sundae whipping cream.

OH & you thought I just stopped at ONE creation for my SPOTLIGHT......

NNOooooooooooooooo sirrreeee!!!

I made a lovely doorhanger for my niece. She just moved to the big city with the rest of the family & I thought this would be a nice room warming gift. She's 14 years old.
This little Sassy is called Tiffany. Once I colored her I realized how much I love her!

Doorhanger is from Susie Sugars Die Cut Dreams Store.
Flowers are from WOC.
Pink ribbon leaves are from Really Reasonable ribbons.
Stamens with the leaves are from Bizzy Becs
All ribbons are misc from my stash.
Chipboard heart from Dollarama. I sponged with pink CTMH ink & painted over with tattered rose distress ink then covered with glitter.
A bit of liquid pearls around the image inspired by my girl LOU

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I've inspired you to become just as addicted to Simply Sassy Stamps as I am! They have a NEW Line of Sassy's coming soon....I must control myself!

If I have, they can be purchase here at FunkyKits!!

My fave color

When I saw the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge.............I knew I had to get in on it! The colors they are asking for are "Coffee & Cream"--my faves. I love brown/cream tones! Did I mention they are also having a DT call for 1 new member. I am gonna throw my name in there and see how it goes!
Doesn't hurt to try hey?!

I used the sketch from Friday's Sketchers to pull this little beauty together. I flipped it , hee hee!

The off white Jute ribbon I got from Really Reasonable Ribbons. I made it thinner to suit the sketch element. The great thing about Jute is that you can remove some of the horizontal or vertical lines of the material, while  the rest remains in tack & looks great! The aspects that I removed I used in the center of my buttons!  The Seam binding ribbons were given to me from various blogger friends! Mwah! The heart charm is from Bizzy Becs and the flower is misc from Dollarama!

 Other Challenges for my card:
Do U Stack Up- anything goes
Magnolia Down Under- distressing
Anything Goes- distressing
The Paper Variety- stitching
The Shabby Tearoom- buttons & bows
Sketches in Thyme- open as long as you follow a sketch from somewhere

The crimped pink heart I've also had since the beginning of time & the heart mirror is a recent purchase from Dollarama. Heart doily I got off eBay.
Sentiment is from Bizzy Becs Store and comes with a whole wack of other sentiments in her 3 scallop Valentine set.

All of the images in this new release are done by Caroline, another very talented artist.

The third release in this collection is KEY TO MY HEART.

I was totally not happy with this card as it was coming together, something just didn't look right. Then I added the large pink & white spotted ribbon behind the flower and whammo.....it was complete.
This is a purely copic colored creation. I don't have many copics so did my best with what I had.
The big funky shaped paper behind the ribbon & flower was cut on my Cricut (gawd I love that machine).

I have hidden a little tag on the left hand side, see pic below.
The sentiment is from Bizzy Becs Store and is called 3 scallop Valentines. It comes with a whole lotta other sentiments as well. They are just perfect.

So now I want you to head over to Bizzy Becs Store Blog and get your name into the linky for a chance to win a set of this new release collection.

And as per the challenge requirements, I've used COLOR EXPLOSION COLORS plus 2 DP & 3 embellies (raffia lace, raffia ribbon & gems)

The sentiment you see below is from Bizzy Becs (where; by the way; there is chance to win a SPELLBINDERS GRAND CALIBUR MACHINE [for Australian residents only] --Go check it out for details)

One Card for 2 DT's- Ribbons & Roses & Something New

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years celebration & I sure hope Santa was as good to you as he was to me this year!!

I am here to tell you all about our next challenges at Totally Tilda & Creative Inspirations.
Yup, it's a Two-Fer!!

at Totally Tilda
it's RIBBONS & ROSES

............with of course, our TILDA front & center!
sponsored by Mrs. Susie Sugar of Die Cut Dreams

And

at Creative Inspirations
it's USE SOMETHING NEW
sponsored by:
OUR NEW MONTHLY SPONSOR

Photobucket

&

I have done a couple of firsts here with my card today.

This is the first time I ever used a line of ribbon roses. I can't recall where I got them from....I just told my friend what to order & she did, then they were there and OMG I quickly realized how cool & handy all these roses are; linked all together! Very neat indeed!
Also, I made a little frame around my Tilda girl.
How? Well I'm so glad you asked...I explain how a little further down (with pictures to show you cuz it's kinda hard to explain)
Finally, I added some frost glimmer mist spray to my card, once it was all compiled.
I wasn't sure how it would look & I probly should have practiced spraying a sample piece of paper first, but in the end, I REALLY like how it turned out!

The ribbon leaves are from Really Reasonable Ribbons & the pins are homemade by me!
The sentiment is from Bizzy Becs On-Line store.
I figured this card would be used for Valentines day or a Wedding.

Now for my frame around Tilda:
Step #1 & #2- get your supplies (missing from my photo are scissors), then punch an edge off the paper you want to make the frame with (mine is the brown paper)

Step #3- cut the edge off the punched paper. Normally one would leave a little excess paper beyond the punched edge, but in this case you want to cut right over the punched edge (as close to the whole piece of paper as possible.

Step #4 & #5- add your two sided tape to the back of your image & start placing the open end of the punch to your already shaped stamped image.

the pic below is the back of the pic above.

and just continue doing this front & back alternating technique with your punched edge until your whole image is surrounded.

Now I don't know if  it'll work for every single punch, but for this particular MS punch, it worked just dandy!

****************************

So do you remember why your here in the first place?
