Fun in the sun

Seriously..........another scrapbook page?! I know right!?

I'm showing you another page I made for my brother & his family about their dog Rousseau (whom is no longer with us). I have used my new Echo Park Paper & stickers to embellish my page.

Look at that dog, just relaxing in the sun after a hard day of sea-dooing! LOL What a character. He was just like one of the kids, I tell ya.

The digital puppy stamp in the corner, that I colored all black to resemble Rousseau, is from Prairie Fairy Designs. The image is called Beggin', available HERE.

((ALSO.........the Prairie Fairy Challenge (Fairy Fun Fridays)  this time round is SUMMER FUN.............so be sure to get your enteries in!!!! ))

I am so super happy to have been introduced to another challenge, called Whimsical Wednesdays,  that is a card making blog as well as a scrapbooking blog. My creation will fit in perfectly with their current challenge (see below).

Friends

Hey Ya'll.

Today I have a scrapbook page to show you.

It is for my brother's family. They had to put their dog down in January, due to significant illness; so I am putting together a scrapbook for them . The other day hubby asked me "are you almost done that yet?" meaning the scrapbook.......my response "BWAHHHAHA!!! No! ". I am such a procrastinator sometimes! So I buckled down & got two more pages done, thanks for some great scrapbook challenges.

The bigger picture of my nephews are when they were younger and actually fit under their bed.....see the Pokemon bedsheets? The smaller picture is of them when they are a bit older in front of their picture window, lying on the floor.

It is so refreshing to do some scrapbooking for a change. Oh how I miss my scrapbooking supplies. I just adore the people who make delicious, eye candy layouts with lots of bulk and substantial details......I, unfortunately am not that type of scrapbooker. Cardmaker full of embellies yes, scrapbooker no. lol

Challenges for my layout:

Frosted Designs- Fab Friday Challenge- friends
Crafty Cardmakers- for someone you love & why

PaperPlay- summer citrus splash
Cupcake Craft- things with tails

Stuck On You Sketches- sketch (see below)

"A Life of Riley......................."

Otherwise known as an 'Easy & Pleasant life".

This is another page for Rousseaus scrapbook. Rousseau was my brother and his family's pet for the past 14 yrs. See original post HERE.

I believe this is going to be the first page of the scrapbook as it holds a very special meaning, which I will explain. See out the top, the word happy; well within the pages is a journalling sheet (see below pics) and if you can't read what it says I will type it here.

"At 1 yr of age Rousseau was adopted from the Humane Society & became part of the Duchinski household. He was mellow & laid back, the perfect gift for 2 yr old Riley (for potty training). Rousseau was always very gentle & easy to get along with. He truly had ..."

"A life of Riley".

Riley (my nephew) is about 3 yrs old in this picture. Lovingly embracing his new pet. Sitting in the wagon, waiting for a ride. My nephew is now 14 yrs old. Wow, hey!

I am entering my scrapbook page into the following challenges:

Frosted Designs Fab Friday- no DP

Whoopsi Daisy- someone special

Wee Memories- what's your inspiration (my family)

Paper Sundaes- masculine colors

Craft Your Passion- male project

Waiting........waiting........

Here is another page for the scrapbook I am doing for my brother and his family, in memory of their pet Rousseau (see original post HERE).

I finally got some actual photos from my sister in law last weekend when we went for a visit. Til now I've been using digital pictures printed on my computer. It's nice to have 'picture, pictures.'...... know what I mean?!

This message was shared with me by my sister-in-law & I wrote it down here,  like it was her talking......

the rest of the message is carried onto the scrapbook page in the next photo.

As you can see, I've hidden the little message between the paper layers on top. Since the scrapbook pages load from the top, this works perfectly for the album.

I'll have another page in a couple days. Stay tuned.

Challenges for my page:

A Spoon Full of Sugar- anything but a card

CRAFT Challenge- not a card

Stamp Insanity- ABC of ABC's- anything but a card

Frosted Designs- sketch along Tuesdays (see below)

Frosted Designs Sketch

As I compile a scrapbook for my brother's family based on their dog who has recently passed [see original post HERE] I am slowly finding more scrapbook blogs out there & the Frosted Designs Challenge is yet another one I've found along the way...............how?

Thru a fine scrapper named Libeeti.

I follow her & she does some amazing layouts, so I snuck a peek & found this challenge blog.

Thanks Libeeti!

I flipped the sketch & got this!

This is a family picture taken around Christmas in 2008.

I followed the colors of the people's clothes to base my color scheme.

The stamped sentiment is from a SU set.

The Crafty Pad- for the boys

*************************************

As I've mentioned, once or twice before, I am putting together a scrapbook page for my brother's family, based on their dog Rousseau [RUSSO]. You can see the original post HERE.

As I am putting together this scrapbook, I am finding some amazing scrapbook layout sites to center my pages around. Another one of those sites is the s.e.i LIFESTYLE- paper beyond scrapbooking site.

Once I found the site, I had to think as to whether or not I had s.e.i materials to display on my page, then I remembered purchasing some from an on-line store at one time. I was so happy I remembered.

The s.e.i papers are the big circle behind the pictures,as well as the smaller circles on either side of the pictures. This is the Moonrise Collection. I have more papers to use on the co-ordinating page, I am just waiting for another awesome layout.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Challenges for my layout:

Sketches in Thyme- open theme as long as you follow a sketch

Simon Says Stamp- animal antics

The Crazy Challenge- dots & stripes

Fairy fun Friday DT- For a Sweetheart

At Fairy Fun Friday this fortnight, we want to see you create something

FOR A SWEETHEART.

Remember you don't have to use a Prairie Fairy image, but we DO love to see them.

I have chosen to create a digital scrapbook page, using a Prairie Fairy Design called Vintage Lock & Key.

The Prairie Fairy provides JPEG as well as PNG formats for her images, so I took the PNG colored images and ran with it!

This first picture you see here is what my digital scrapbook page layout looked like before I altered it in my Creative Memories Storybook Creator 3.0 program.

And this is the final result. You can see I changed the hue of the paper to match the lock and key & removed the small slots at the bottom of the page (normally for more pictues) & replaced it with the Prairie Fairy images & sentiment.

I also added a heart cut shape on digital DP that matched the scrapbook page.

Can't forget about the awesome pic of me & my hubby. This pic was take December 2008.

( i think) lol

So there you have it!

Hey, if you are an avid digital scrapbooker who wants to get your hands on the Prairie Fairy's PNG files, go check out her store! We want to see what you can do & with the additon of our new FAIRIES this week, we have some real treats coming up in the future.............including more scrapbook pages!! YAHOO!!

Another Page for the Scrapbook

Over the next little while you will see pictures of scrapbook pages I am compiling for my brother, his wife & their kids who had to put their dog down. See the original post HERE.

This is another page.

It's a winter one. OBVIOUSLY duh! RIGHT!! LOL

Rousseau loved the outdoors. Snowy & cold or Sunny & warm. Whatever the weather, Rousseau was one of the kids when it came to play time!

This is a sketch from Twisted Sketches (see below) with the twist of 'white-anyway; anyhow'.

I did a bit of embossing with the swirls behind the pics & snowflakes behind the words.

Thanks for popping in today! Hope I inspired you somehow, anyway; anyhow.

Challenges for my scrapbook page:

Sir Stampalot- A Winter's Tale (Tail? heehee)

The Shabby Tearoom- Winter Wonderland

The Making of a Scrapbook Part #1

OOOOOoooooo it has been a hard week.

My brother & his family recently had to put their pet dog, Rousseau [RUSSO], 'down' due to a significant illness.

This remarkable dog has been with the family for 14 years.

He was literally 'one of the gang'.

Going on boatrides, snowmobile rides, visiting the neighbors in the city & at their cabin in the country.

If there EVER was the perfect pet, Rousseau was it.

My sister-in-law informed me that in 14 yrs they only heard Rousseau bark 3-4 times; and were in such shock when it happened, they swore it was another dog. lol

To commemorate him, I am putting together an 8X8 scrapbook for them.

I'm not sure what the layout for the scrapbook will be; what page number this will be, but rest assured I will show them as I compile them. This has a 'matching' page for the other side of the scrapbook, but will not be posted for a few more weeks! Sorry.

I got this amazing scrapbook sketch layout from Sketches in Thyme (see below) & can't wait to use more of their layouts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Remember to give your pet a big hug today!
