It's a Rainy Day

Boy oh Boy, some of you may have been wondering where I have been!
A day off between posts.....I KNOW....CRAZY RIGHT!!! LOL

I am officially off on my 7 day stretch......I simply love having 7-9 day stretches off of work so I can get into my crafty zone, creating til the wee hours of the morn while everyone is asleep! Like a mini- VA-CA every 4 weeks!! That makes me smile :-)

This is a card I made on my LAST stretch off from work using a Saturated Canary image. If you haven't heard of Saturated Canary then you MUST WAKE UP AND SMELL THE EMBOSSING POWDER. Saturated Canary artist Krista Smith is also the mega-mind & slight of hand behind the Simply Sassy Stamps. She does AMaZinG work & I have quickly fallen in love with her stuffs.
This image is called Let it Rain. I immediately fell in love with her when I saw her. And after making the card front, I realized it would look great as an easle! So here we are. The blue papers are from one of my paper pads I NEVA got a chance to crack open yet......Stella Rose by MME!.

A few pics of the finer details.  I used my  SU scallop punch on the base & added a layer & a button. Made the dots with my white gel pen! OOoooo almost forgot I slid some pins in the lace there on the base as well!

The next pic down shows some of the glitter I added to her dress & umbrella.

The bottom pic is of a sentiment I got from Sentiments4You.

Unfortunately I made this card before the new Saturated Canary Challenge blog kicked off (which is a sketch with an optional halloween theme). Instead I followed the sketch below and have also found a few other challenges to enter as well.

Well, gotta go create, comment & cook (not really, I think I'll order out, I just couldn't think of another "c" word.........oooo............) call! LOL
Have a good one!

Challenges for my card:
Crafty Cardmakers- anything goes
365 cards- 5 or more layers
2 sisters- fancy folds
Bunny Zoes- sketch (see below) -

Totally Tilda DT- Midway reminder- Baby Baby! & Something YUMMY

If your looking for the Creative Inspirations Birthday Blog Hop- CLICK HERE

*****************************

YUMMY!
Your thinking candy right!
Not so much, just a glimpse of my homemade egg rolls
Who wants the recipe?

********************************************

At Totally Tilda we currently have a challenge running called
Baby Baby and this is my midway reminder to you!!!

How cute is this lil' baby !
I made this card for a girlfriend of mine who is expecting her second child in March!
I gave her this card in December when we had our semi-annual lunch at Red Lobster. Yup it is a tradition now! Both of our birthdays are in May so we try to get together for that, as well as for a Christmas luncheon......at our favorite spot............mmmmm............I LOVE Red Lobster almost as much as my egg rolls!

Anyways, she does not know what the sex is  & although I tried to make a card for either sex, I think I kinda leaned toward girl with all the orange! OOPs! Regardless, she loved it! (Phew)

The blue & white gingham ribbon & blue glittery ric rak is from Really Reasonable Ribbons & kinda has a shabby feel. I am gonna have to buy more of this stuff, 'cept in different colors!
The little yellow circle embellie is something I've had since the beginning of my scrapbooking career. That would be since  2006! Finally it got used.
The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You !

If you know of anyone expecting a baby or just want to make a baby card for fun with our favorite little girl TILDA, pls feel free to pop it into the challenge over at Totally Tilda! You've got one more week to do it!

Challenges for my card:
Simon Says Stamp- GEMS, GLITTER, RIBBON
Wee Memories-anything goes

Truth be told, I made a card for this premier challenge & failed to impress anybody with my inability to follow instructions to use a digi image! Needless to say I got in (cyber) trouble & came back with a vengance!! LOL

I have made a card for a new graduate & since where I live, the grad colors are blue & black I decided to go with that color scheme.
The image is from Prairie Fairy Designs & is called "Hangin' In".
The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You, owned & operated by Lynne, who is also running this new Do It With Digi's Challenge. Incredible! I get tired just thinking about it ! lol
Right.........my card..............
I watercolored my image with ink refills & my aquapainters.

Fairy Fun Friday DT- New Beginnings!

Click HERE (or scroll down) for my last Fussy & Fancy creation for our First Birthday Celebration challenge that started today
(with TONS of prizes to be had)

***********************************************

How appropriate a challenge for the Eve of a New Year!
What are your plans for tonight?!
Hanging out with friends?
Going to the bar?
Getting out the Wii Rock Band or Dance games (we got the new Micheal Jackson Wii game at our place, you bet your booty we will be boogy-ing it up with that tonight!)
Or perhaps you are hitting the big social in town?
Dinner & Dancing perhaps?
Whatever your fancy, pls ensure you have fun & be safe!
Onto the task at hand........
NEW BEGINNINGS
is the name of the game at Fairy Fun Friday for the next 2 weeks.
And just when I thought I was done with the Christmas theme, I decided to crack out one more card for a Christmas baby arrival!
Meet "Elfy Gillian" from Prairie Fairy Designs.

Sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You.
Image is colored with watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil!
Doily is actually a long rectangular shaped doily I chopped up to fit into 1 little square shape.

Curious about my sparkly snowflake?
Let me show you what I've done.
I got these cute little clear snowflake ornaments from my friend Trisha & when I placed it on my card, it disappeared into the papers, so I covered it with glue & added some blingy glitter to make it pop.

Then I attached it to my card with glue dots.
Now whoever gets it can take the ornament off & put it on their tree.

Now get on with it, come on down to Fairy Fun Friday with your New Beginnings creation!

*********************************************

OOOOOOOOO SPEAKING OF NEW BEGINNINGS......
A new challenge called DO IT WITH DIGI'S starts on January 6th & today is the last day to get your link into the blog candy to launch!

****************************************************

Challenges for my card:
Digital Tuesdays- anything goes
Corrosive Challenge- bling it on
MoJo Monday- sketch
Dutch Dare Challenge- new beginnings
Anything goes- letter C (Christmas)
Stamp Something- glitter

Merry Christmas................everyone!

Merry Christmas to all my blogging & DT friends/fellow members!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas Day.
A quick post for today.
A freebie that the Prairie Fairy is giving out to all her e-mail subscribers today.
She gives freebies out quite often to her subscribers and just finished sending them Christmas Tags.
This little image is called "Santa & the Deer".
I wanted to show him off with my new & highly addictive watercoloring technique on the sketch from Friday's Sketchers (where they are having a gift/candy giving blog hop).
ALSO-
Don't forget about the Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge still on  for one more week (use Kraft).

The large snowflake is from my friend Lori & the pins I made myself.
The sentiment is from Sentiments for you!
I was inspired to do all this stitching from Jeanette, as I made my way thru the Friday's Sketchers Blog Hop!
For more awesome images go visit the Prairie Fairy Designs Store.

Oh & this is what we were left with when Santa was done with the cookies & milk.
What a messy guy!
Tomorrow I'll tell you what he left for me!!
