Midweek Magnolias #3

A little update- The pancake breakfast fundraiser that we did for the Village Green Playstructure brought in $1800.00 (Canadian). It was so fun. The weather was great! My daughter and a couple other kids that were there were jumping up & down outside advertising it! Here's a snapshot!

My daughter is in the green hat!

And a couple of our volunteers! Thanks guys. In case your wondering, that is in fact Roberta (in the black) from PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS!

ONTO OUR CHALLENGE:

I just love how more and more people each week, come and find our challenge!
What a great feeling, and it's not just because of us, it's because of all of you, making creations and playing along with our challenge!! Thanks so much!!

Speaking of which, let's get to this weeks theme over at the MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  Challenge, shall we:

1 RIBBON
2 PEARLS
3 FLOWERS

Maybe you think I'm a bit sneaky here, but truly there is only 1 ribbon used......however I DID use it 3 times! Sneaky I know! My pearls are in the ribbon center and in the center of my 3 layered flowers. I sprinkled some purple tinted confetti to the butterfly edge.
This is yet another butterfly shape for the wall hanging that is SLOWLY coming together for my daughter's room! Forgive me,I don't even know what the name of this Tilda is!!?>
Can you tell I'm trying to work on my light source coloring! Tricky, I tell ya!

PS- We are also having a GDT call !! Interested! Go enter and put GDT behind your name!! Quickly! Go!

I will be posting my butterfly over at the Steel Magnolias blog. For tons of more Magnolia inspiration, you must hop over there to take a look around!

PSS- the Let's Ink It Up Challenge is open for a few more days as well.

We sure hope you can come join in our recipe this week! We'd love to sample your creations at the MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  !!

Let's Ink It Up meets The Sketchy Challenges

For the month of February at the Let's Ink It Up Monthly Challenge Blog we have a challenge that EVERYONE loves. Almost as good as our last one! This month it is :

RIBBONS & LACE

REMEMBER: You must use rubber stamps here at Let's Ink It Up!

Our sponsor for this month is Lily Of The Valley offering up this prize:

ALSO, this card is for MY LAST POST AS A SKETCHY CHALLENGES DT MEMBER (I know, it seems like I just began & I did.....but I had to surrender another DT position in order to make more time for ma famille)! Farwell, my SKETCHY GIRLS! You are another bunch of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of working with in blogland! *wipes tears*.

The sketch this fortnight is brought to you by the talented Sandy:

SKETCH16

I have used a Simply Sassy Rubber Stamp called I give you my heart from Funky Kits. This was actually a stamped RAK that I got from a fellow blogger! What is not to love about these Sassy girls, which is why I surrounded her with love! Look at all them hearts! My lace heart doilies are from Dollarama, my pale lace ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons and the darker pink ribbon on top of that is from The Ribbon Carousel. I have a ribbon addiction I think! I used a few chipboard pieces for accents! And what's a card without pearls!?!>

PS- LIIU is also having a DT call!!! Go check it out if you are interested in being on a FUN-TASTIK Monthly challenge blog that uses RUBBA STAMPS!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
And I hope to see you at the Let's Ink It Up challenge this month as well as The Sketchy Challenges for the next two weeks!

The Sketchy Challenges on Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve.
As you read this, I am prepping to go to my brother's cabin for some sliding, sledding, skating, supper and gift exchange. You see I have to work tomorrow (Christmas Day) as well as the 26th & 27th. bleh! So TODAY is my Christmas! I hope you are all doing some Christmas preparations as well; AND having fun doing it!
Having said all that, today starts a new challenges at The Sketchy Challenges. Lizzie has put together a fantastic sketch for us to use.
Dec 24 Challenge Sketch

Don't let it frighten you as it did to me!
I didn't know where the heck to begin, then the more I looked at it, the more I realized I could totally use my ribbon scraps for the background.
I used my So What Simply Sassy Stamp from Funky Kits.  My sentiment stamps are called Awesome Kids from Graphicat Designs.....I won this stamp set from a Graphicat Sketch challenge. Works so perfectly with this sassy little image, dontcha think?
This will make a great birthday card I'd say!

Sure hope you can join us over the holidays to play with this funkadelic sketch!!!

Pls hop over to say HEY to the rest of the team:
You are bound to see one of us or another at one point in time or another?! LOL

Some Odd BLACK & WHITE

I know, I know what your thinking. HOLY COW, right? Am I right? BWaahahhhaa!!
This week at the Some Odd Girl , we DON"T want to see cows, we want to see

YOUR IMAGE IN BLACK & WHITE.

Do u do that very often? Not me. I try. I think I can. I think I can. I try to, then the color comes. It just happens, I can't stop it! So I used Mooey, which is one of my SOG clear stamps & is an obvious choice for a B&W image! I think he is oooober cute! Yes? I made my sentiment with various stickers from my stash after seeing a challenge to try this out. That challenge is now over a long time ago, but thought it would be fun to do anyways!
My ribbon is from my Ribbon Carousel September Club Assortment. I did some stitching around the edges complimented with some black dots.

If this challenges gets you in the "MOO-d"....haha......head on over to the Some Odd Girl Store pick yourself up some images and get a craftin' in B&W (NO red all over.....{i know, sorry, I couldn't resist} )

This card will be posted to the following galleries:

Challenges for my card:
Anything goes- to the letter
Cards for Men- make us laugh
KB Cute Monday- anything goes

Sassy for your Soul

Hey there, yup I'm back again! Did I tell you my great news yesterday? No I don't think so. My daughter's soccer team, The Mavericks, (she's 10) won GOLD in their agegroup at the soccer tournament this past Sunday. I am so miffed that I was not there to cheer her on  (I had to work!! ), but soooo happy when she popped by the hospital to show me her trophy! YAY!! They worked their butts off for that!

*************************************

Here we have another Sassy Girl. This is one of the stamps from the last set I ordered from Funky Kits called Lost in Music. This is one of those cards where I colored the image first, then matched my 'everything' around her. I don't think it turned out that bad!?
I used the Sugar Bowl sketch to work my card. All my ribbons for this card are from my Sept. Ribbon Carousel club kit. Metal clips holding the ribbon are from my SU Hodge Podge Hardware set! The sentiment is from Sentimental Sundays. I cut the center out of the heart doily to be able to see the music sheet & papers a bit more.

Well, I'm off to craft a bit more and maybe do some laundry or feed the kids. Choices, choices. LOL

Challenges for my card:
Ribbon Carousel- anything goes
Craft Your Passion- anything goes Plus ribbon
Cupcake Inspirations- photo inspire (see below)
