Bizzy Becs- Victorian Sweetheart- Charlotte.

(2nd post for today)

WELCOME TO THE LAUNCH OF THE
BLUE BUTTERFLY STAMPS
(Digi & rubber)

This is my first post as a Blue Butterfly Stamps Designer, with the first image release from the first line of Blue Butterfly Stamps. Does that make sense?

Before I go on to show you the very first image from the
Collection,
I want to just let you know that at the bottom of this post will be details on how you can get the whole Victorian Sweethearts Collection (++Extras) for yourself, as well as a chance to get in on my MINI-CANDY draw!

*********************************

All images in this Collection have been Designed and Created by Giulia. An Amazing Artist.

**************************************

Meet 'Charlotte'.
She is the first image to be introduced & let's just say when I saw all the images, the first thought that came to my mind was "OMG, beautiful"  then the word "Vintage" popped into my head.
Since Vintage & I don't get along very well, I tried my darndest to 'snazzy' her up to the nines'!
Flowers are WOC & pins are homemade by moi.
Papers are CTMH, distressed to bits with my Tim Holtz distressing tool. I added a bit of raffia ribbon & lace down one side & used my SU butterfly punch to add some flair.

I layered up her skirt & added some glitter. If you look at the other pictures you'll see I also added tiny pearls to the flowers on her hat & ankle accents!

**NOW WHAT ABOUT THE FUN STUFF!!!***

There will be 16 prizes up for grabs.
Each prize is a Digi Image stamp set of the 6 Victorian Sweethearts

Some Odd Girl- GDT 'Getting to Know You' & Tinies Challenge

(This is post #1 for today)

Here's a card I made for the Some Odd Girl "Tiny Contest" .

What is this all about? Well let me tell ya!
Kristy & her brilliant significant other decided to start a contest for the Some Odd Girl Tinies!
Make a creation using one of the Tinies to represent someone "tiny" in your life & enter it HERE!
Here is the image "Tobie & his dog" (which was a freebie at the SOG site) that I made to represent two special individuals (actually three) in my life.
Meet my 3 yr old son Reade......yup, snotty nose & all.
Do u know how hard it is to get a child to hold a card, close to their face AND smile! (note the indented cheek...lol)
As you can see from  the pic below (way below- haha), I colored his clothes to look like the clothes my son was wearing today!

And the dog with Tobie, represents our dog Koda. It also looks exactly like our other dog Roxy. Both girls and not related. Different parents!
Do u know how hard it is to get one dog to sit still, NEVER MIND both dogs. LMAO

I bought this puppy bone ribbon AGES ago & thought it was the perfect accent for my boy card with BG papers. A couple buttons, 'friends' charm & airplane eyelets  & we're done!
Oh ya, I also added some green & blue stickles to the edges of some of the papers. I just bought these in the states the other day......the blue & green stickles/glitter glue are together in one tube swirled around. It is sooooooooo totally cool.

***********************
Now as the SOG GDT this month, Kristy has put together a few questions in order for people to get to know me better: I thought I'd share it here with all of you as well!

 1) What color do feel represents your personality and why?

My fave color is brown. Does this represent my personality?.....perhaps......I'm a country girl at heart, grew up on a farm, small town living. Everything was made of wood in our house, even my dad became a wood worker of sorts---building furniture & painting them brown. Perhaps it grew on me. To this day, I am drawn to brown shades, however have been told I look good in yellow! lol

2) Is your style of dress/ home decor similar to your style of card making?

Yes, it's kinda all over the place, like my cards. I am not usually a clean cut, mod type person. I tend to change things up in my life ALL the time. Hubby hates when he comes home and the living room is changed around AGAIN. haha. I like to add lotsa embellies to my cards, which also resembles my home decor of a 'whole lot going on'....not just one style; but dress/clothes wise, I am as plain as they come. Sweats & a T !! That's me!

3) What one thing always puts you in a good mood?

Grocery shopping. Sounds corny I know (especially lugging 3 kids for the 1.5 hr ride to the big city-better deals).... but spending a whole wack of money on groceries & just knowing that for the next month we have enough food to make some healthy meals, makes me happy. Means hubby & I are providing well for our family.

4) What SOG character do you most identify with and why?

Ice Cream Tia. I haven't made a card with her yet, waiting for summer, you know. Cuz when I was growing up I always had a small vanilla cone dipped in chocolate almost every day after school. Then we I was old enough to get a job, one of my first places of employment was at that SAME ice cream store. MMMmmmmmmmm I love my ice cream!

5) Are you just a cardmaker or do you dabble in other crafts?

I also do scrapbooking. Tradtional & digital, but this has kinda fell at the wasteside since finding blogland. To give you an idea, one of my last scrapbooking pages was when my 3 yr old was 9 months! YA! Pretty bad.

6)Where do you find your inspiration?

I dunno, really. It just comes. I am not an artistic person by any means, but seeing all the lovely creations in blogland really gets me inspired to improve, to try a different style, to try a different color combo, to make something other than a card. I have had the privilege to be on some DT's with some amazingly talented ladies who inspire me daily with their kind words & fresh creations!!! (mwah) Also, when you have a good image to work with (like SOG digis), the inspiration just falls into place. ACTUALLY, I was thinking the other day, that it was the first SOG blog hop (was it a hop? where each SOG DT member shared a tip) that intrigued me to improve on my coloring & purchase some copics for skin & hair tones. I will never forget the feedback all the ladies gave me when I commented on their creations. I remember jumping back to that hop when I wondered what color copic I should use next!!! Pretty cool hey?!

Challenges for my card:
Top Tip Tuesday- use a ribbon
Basic Grey-recipe- 3 papers, 4 embellies, 1-2 image/sentiment
Creative Cowgirl- anything goes
TPE- blue/green/red
Karber Monthly- digi stamp & Childhood
The Sweet Stop- sketch (see below)

I am a Blue Butterfly!

Boy have I gots some news for you!
There I was searching thru blogland for a challenge site that was in need of DT members, when I came across the perfect site . Bizzy Becs store blog started a MONTHLY challenge blog.
"How perfect that would be." I said to myself. "I'll be going back to work soon so a monthly challenge would be great".
Well, I didn't hear back about that one, however Bec later contacted me wondering if I would be interested in designing cards for her new line of stamps.
Blue Butterfly Stamps.
"How awesome is that?" again, I said to myself (apparently I do this alot! lol)
Of course I said yes & so today....
I am honored to be an official Blue Butterfly Stamps Designer.

But that's not the only good news. I am also having a mini-candy draw to celebrate this position.
Tune in tomorrow to see what my candy will be!!

((I will be posting this candy at the top of my blog with a Mr. Linky. So whoever wants to get in on my celebratory candy is more than welcome. No requirements necessary for my candy draw. Candy winner will be randomly drawn on Dec 31! ))

TUNE IN TOMORROW WITH THE RELEASE OF THE FIRST IMAGE FROM THE FIRST LINE OF BLUE BUTTERFLY STAMPS.......and a chance to win some of the Blue Butterfly Stamps for yourself!

On the left we have Sweets for Santa & on the right we have Tree Fairy. I used my friends' Cricut to cut the tag shapes (now I want a Cricut! lol) & also stole her gromets to set the tone of the tags (oh ya, the friend I'm talking about is the Prairie Fairy herself-my BFF & next door neighbor-MWAH!).
All of my hardware is from my SU Hodge Podge set & the papers are mix & match CTMH. The bouquet of flowers are WOC.  A little bit of stitching, a little bit of punching & sponging & VOILA!

Totally Tilda DT- For the One You Love

For the next two weeks at Totally Tilda we want you to make a creation:

FOR THE ONE YOU LOVE!

Make sure to have your Tilda right in the middle....or off to the side like I did!! LOL
I chose to make a card for my hubby that is sure to rope him in (pun intended) & show him how much I wanna get him in my stable!! ((ooooooooo)) (did I mention this post is PG-13) haha!

I have used my wooden-like DP that I literally have NEVA used!
As well I used my wood embossing plate on the oval behind Tilda! Cool huh?
Sketch is from somewhere I can't remember but recall falling in love with it the moment I saw it!
I distressed everything I possbily could with my Tim Holtz distressing tool then I sponged  it all!

Flowers are none other than WOC & ribbon is from a set I bought when I first started scrapbooking......

Fairy Fun Friday- DT- Use a Star!!

For my Fussy & Fancy Creation click HERE! or just scroll down.

*******************************************

So, I ask you.................what is the first thing that crosses your mind when you see a challenge that says USE A STAR?
My first thought.......OH S'tar' !!! lol
Whatever am I going to do?
Where am I gonna get a star?
ICK< ick yuck......
Then my MOJO kicked in & I am pleased to present you with my creation for Fairy Fun Fridays (**) this fortnight where our challenge to you is to (yup you guessed it).......

USE A STAR

This is my first time using one of the Prairie Fairy's(**) new images......it is called Candy Cane Fairy & the set includes 2 digi images & a set of 8 sentiments for $4.50 (Cnd). The sentiments I used here are found in this set too, just to give you an idea.
What I have done to the Candy Cane Fairy, is taken away her candy cane that she was standing on & replaced her footing with a ribbon of stars (available at Really Reasonable Ribbons).

As you can see in the picture above, I have hidden the remainder of the sentiment in behind the die cut shape. The picture below just shows the sentiment sitting beside the card.

Now what about this fantastic little star you ask?
It is a chipboard star from CTMH. It was originally white, but I sponged it with Navy Blue distress ink, then heat embossed some silver swirls onto it. It is actually a perfect fit for my star card!
Per usual I have colored my little fairy with watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps (except her skin tones...those are copics). I glittered up her wings to match the other silvery blings on the card!
The Christmas sheet music is from a fellow blogger (I just tried to find her e-mail from when she sent it to me, but I may have deleted it)....she downloaded it off the internet & then sent it to me. NO ANGEL POLICY. It is totally legit & is not law breaking by any means (at least that's what she said-lol).

Now head on over to the newly old Fairy Fun Friday (**). What I mean by that is that The Fairy (**) has returned to blogger. She used to be wordpress, but didn't quite find it to be home. "There's no place like blogger! ". So head on over, replace your URL links ((i've marked them with (**) above)) to show the new ones & BTW The Fairy (**) has ginormous candy up for grabs RIGHT HERE!!!
REMEMBER- Change all your links (**)!!!

Challenges for my card:
Flutter by Wednesday- open challenge
All Sorts - monochromatic
OSAAT- bling it up
Pollycraft Mondays- chipboard
Lexi's Creations- blue & silver
Stamp Something- Christmas Color combo something

Fussy & Fancy DT - Anything but a card

For the next two weeks at Fussy & Fancy we want to see:

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

How cool is this challenge?
What's even cooler is that our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp
So............
What are you gonna make?
Wanna see what I did?
Maybe this little dandy will get your juices flowing!
I have made a faux leather wallet with the help of this TUTORIAL over at SCS.
In the tutorial, they ask for a cuttlebug Mosaic folder, but instead I used a no-name embossing plate called 'leather' & ran it thru my cuttlebug. Worked like a charm.

This was so fun. I think I am gonna give it to one of my neices/nephews for Christmas with a gift card or cash inside.
My daughter saw this the day after I made it and she said :
"Whoa mom, did u make this ? (yes) Holy cow, you could
like totally use it!? Neat"
The metal pieces are from SU Hodge Podge Hardware.

That classic looking button is from our local fabric store that is closing down & selling everything in stock for rock bottom prices!!

& see this little button clip......these were in my sewing pile, not that I sew, but when I bought the sewing kit, they were in there and when magnets didn't work (mine weren't strong enough), I went to the next best thing. I hand stiched them in place then put a bit of glue behind each one & OMG it works beautifully!!
I'm sure velcro could be a successful alternative as well.

Come on, get on over to Fussy & Fancy & enter your creation.....or at the very least come & leave the girlz a little bit o' love!!

Challenges for my creation:
Creative Cowgirl- anything goes
The Shabby Tearoom- get in shape
Fun with Shapes & More- everything but a card (used a punch on the corners)
Southern Girls- anything with heat
Crafty Creations- gift card holder

Some Odd Girl- FIRST EVA GDT

Hello fellow bloggers.
I am here with you today to share my excitement & enthusiasm for being asked to be the FIRST EVA GDT at the Some Odd Girl Challenge Blog.
I was supa excited, happy & privileged to have been asked by  Kristy (Some Odd Girl creator) to join the ODDIES this month!!

The first challenge this month (& for the next 2 weeks) is:

MAKE IT UBER GIRLY

flowers, lace, pearls, gems, glitter, glitz, glory, bows, bling, shimmer, shine.....whateva you gots, that's what we wanna see!!

...........................and here's my first card as a Guest Oddie!!

I have used the image Dancin' Kaylee & totally thought of my daughter when I saw this image.
She is hooked on her MP3 (I don't know if you know this story yet, but a while back she asked me if we had MP3 players when I was growing up. I told her they were called 'walkmans'.....she looked really confused & asked "what's that?"- LOL- I literally busted a gut laughing!!!).
Whenever we go for a car ride, she wants to bring her MP3, cuz my hubby doesn't like her belting out the tunes in the vehicle!! Madonna in training I guess!! lol
Anywho, needless to say, she listened to her MP3 on our way to the USA this past wknd, which is where I got a great deal on this FABULOUSLY BLINGY My Mind's Eye Paper pack!!
And in my fav. color to boot!!! BROWN!!

Sentiment is from Sentimental Sundays.
The pink doily I got off e-Bay a while back.
The brown lacey fabric trim at the bottom of the card is from our local fabric store that is going out of business. Lotsa little treasures to be found there!!!

I had all these flowers already on hand, but the centerpieces I purchased whilst doing my shopping spree at Hobby Lobby last weekend. Don't those pearls & bling just scream GIRL!!!!

I had such fun coloring this image & singing along to the tunes on my 'walkman' (HAHA, no not really, the tunes were on the TV) as I did it!

We'd sure like to see what you create as your UBER GIRLY creation for the Some Odd Girl Challenge!

Check out their homepage HERE!
And their store HERE!
And don't forget about their DT call right over HERE!!

Challenges for my card:
Tuesday Throwdown- embellish it
There She Goes- cards for kids
