A Tickled Birthday

I placed an order at Tickled Pink Stamps a while back & I got my order a couple days ago! So excited to finally get my RUBBA! You know as much as I love digi's, sometimes there's nothing like a good rubber stamp at your finget tips!
I thought for sure I would have my stuffs in time for the last Tickled Pink Challenge, but NOPE, so I decided to get in on this week's challenge which is a fantastic sketch.
 I LOVE SKETCHES!
Here we have Molly Mitten's Christmas. I altered her a bit to make her a birthday card. I covered the holly on her dress with little blingy flowers (pic below). I also paper pieced her dress & hat. I added a bit of festivity to the end of her hat instead of the pom pom.

All the ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbons. I am now in love with this silk ribbon. It is such a perfect accent! I stamped a balloon from my SU Whimsy set with my CTMH blush ink & stamped a sentiment on it with Vintage photo ink.

Heres' my completed inside. The color looks off, cuz I took this picture at a later time of the day. Woops sorry! As I said above this is a birthday card,  for a girl in my son's class. Her 4th birthday is today & we are going to Party it up from 10am til noon! WooHOO!

Challenges for my card:
Simon Says Stamp- card for a child
Freshly Brewed- cute & sweet
A Spoon Full of Sugar- all creatures great & small
Tuesday Throwdown- sparkle & bling
Ai Factory- party animal
Paper Sundaes- childhood memories ( I loved my b-day parties)

SOG- CAS

Nope it's not some kind of code, it's "Clean & Simple" at Some Odd Girl!
As soon as I saw their current challenge, I immediately made this little creation!
Meet 80's Kaylee!
I love her!
Reminds me of the good old days!

I placed her atop a shape from Susie Sugar's Die Cut Dreams Store (closed until June). I colored her with watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil. I am currently VERY in love with coloring black hair, as well as LOVING the color combinations red, white & black! A bit of faux stitching & a sentiment from SU & VOILA!

If you've never stopped by the SOG site, you HAVE to, cuz let me tell you, there are some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G sneak peeks going on right now!!!

Challenges for my card
Stamp Insanity- go retro
Stamp Something- sassy circle somethings

Fairy Fun Friday- Let a Nursery Rhyme Inspire You

It's that time of the week again. Fairy Fun Friday time!
I am your host for the next two weeks & I want to see

YOUR FAV. NURSERY RHYME INSPIRATION

OH WHAT FUN!
Back to childhood!
For our junior crafters, this won't be hard at all for you!
Me?
I had to google it!
I ended up choosing the Nursery Rhyme:

WHAT ARE LITTLE GIRLS MADE OF, MADE OF;
WHAT ARE LITTLE BOYS MADE OF, MADE OF?

What are little girls made of, made of?
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and everything nice,
That's what little girls are made of.

What are little boys made of, made of?
What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails , and puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

I made another scrapbook page to suit a scrapbook I am making for my brother's family.
See the original post HERE.

This page is the other half of the original post page. Does that make sense?
I have used the cute little image Summer Fun from Prairie Fairy Designs in my bottom left corner.
I colored the dog black to match Rousseau (the dog in the pictures).

The Paper pack is one I bought at Micheals a long long time ago!
I stamped puppy paws & bones on the background paper with a SU stamp set!

We sure hope to let a nursery rhyme inspire you this fortnight at FFF!

Take Care

Challenges for my scrapbook page:

Card making mama's- embellish it

Easter Basket

I was prompted to make this basket by the challenge going on over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. It is an Easter Extravaganza! There are numerous prizes to be won from the Magnolialicous Store. If you are interested, pls hop over to check out the details to this challenge.
There are 3 challenge categories & this creation is for the last category where they want to see an anything but a card creation. Well, I headed straight to splitcoaststampers to see what I could make....and this little beauty fell right into my lap! So fun to do!

The two white flowers with brad centers, that attach the handle on each side, I bought at Hobby Lobby last year along with the purple chipboard flower & purple chipboard birdie tag. A whole lotta chipboard for a bargain price. Gotta love it!
The little pearly sprigs are from Bizzy Becs Store. I punched some brown leaves with my MS punch and sponged with Vintage photo ink.

I have used this cute little bunny Tilda and went with pinks & purples cuz it just seemed to fit! I added the same color papers, ribbons & accents. Except for the white lace surrounding the base, all the other ribbons are from the Really Reasonable Ribbons Store. My fave ribbon Store!!

Oh & the goodies in the basket did not last long in our house!

Challenges for my basket:
Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog- Easter Extravaganza- Anything but a card
Creative Inspirations- punches & dies
Simon Says Stamp- it's time for spring colors/Easter
A spoon full of Sugar- tons of texture
Oh La La- happy easter

Innocence

For the past two days I have been non-stop busy with making appointments, spring cleaning, shopping, putting together all my 'sketch candy' packages, mailing all of them, reading my course books for recertification classes (for work) & finally...signing my children up for all the summer activities. Phew. Who ever said holidays were for relaxation was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LYING !

When I finally got a chance to sit down today, I opened up an e-mail from my friend Lori and this is what was enclosed.

A little background first.
My cyber boss- BFF- neighbor- & long lost at birth "twin-sister" Roberta, (aka - The Prairie Fairy) took part in an art installation project (which she was hand selected for because she is so amazingly, creatively talented) at our local library & these pictures are from the night of the grand opening/unveiling of her project. She had busted her butt since January to get this project done & all of her local 'fairies' were there to cheer her on.
Yup this was her project. A beautiful nursery rhyme mural with lots of textures, depths and designs.
Roberta  has a slideshow of her project and it can be seen at her blog HERE!
I have never been more proud of her !

(L-R- Debs, me, Lori, Roberta, Kelly, Trisha)

Now for the pictures I got from Lori, also from that night.
This is my innocence......my baby......Merik.
A little over a year old.
Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle & bustle we forget the sweetness right in front of us!

Me & Merik in front of Robertas masterpiece! Both lookin so happy .........

.......then not so happy as I smother my son with kisses and squishes! LOL

I hope you take some time today or tomorrow to give the ones you love some kisses & squishes, whether they like it not! haha

******************************************

PS- I just got a call from my g-friend- she gave birth to a  baby girl at 9 am this morning (April 4)! Mom and babe are doing well!
More innocence!
GOTTA LOVE IT!

*****************************************

Have a great day!

Daisy on a CD

Will you believe I am on holidays. Bwewahaha! I just started back to work , but have to use up my holidays from 2009 before May 1 2011, so I am off until April 22! Cool right? Another cool thing is the above picture.....they are hubbys CD's...hee hee & needless to say he wasn't very impressed that I borrowed one!!

You are probly saying to yourself, OMG what is she doing now, right?!?!
Well.......I was intrigued by the challenge at the Crafty Pad to alter a CD.....as soon as I saw the challenge I knew I had to do it!
So I chose an image  from Bizzy Becs new Blue Butterfly Stamp Line : Meet

This is "Daisy sitting with Sunglasses" & she is now available at  Bizzy Becs Store.
I thought she would go perfectly with the altered CD for a teenage birthday.
The sentiment is the picture below was a freebie from Sentimental Sundays, where every sunday they give away freebie sentiments & the sentiment in the picture below that is a sentiment I made on my computer.

I got the tutorial for the CD case off of Splitcoaststampers HERE. Very Easy Peasy & Handy Dandy considering I have some CD's that need cases!! Yay!
The little metal flower is one I bought last year in a pack at Hobby Lobby. The yellow flower beside my image is a gift from Mrs. Susie Sugar! Mwah! love em.
I used a piece of flower paper from my Tim Holtz paper pack as well as my Tim Holtz filmstrip to accent my creation. Oh that reminds me, these are my last two magnets, must buy more!

Please pop by the Bizzy Becs Store Blog for more great inspiration from the DT of the new digi lines at Bizzy Becs!

Let's Ink It Up DT- Easter

It's Team A's turn for the LIIU Challenge and boy have we got a fun one for you!!
First of all let me tell you that our sponsor is Scrappit -

And the prize – $ 20 voucher  !!

Woo hoo!
Our challenge at LIIU this time round is:
EASTER.

Get out those RUBBER & CLEAR STAMPS.......remember NO DIGIS..........and "hop on over" to our challenge. Pardon the pun, but how could I resist!

{{OH HEY....I almost forgot to tell you that LIIU is also having a featured stamper spot every 2 wks. So if you are interested, just head on over to the LIIU challenge blog and check out the details. }}

Did my first pic give away the theme!?
It's a Tilda with Flower in her Hair (#3049- at the Magnolia-licious Store). Holding some eggs!
I used my pastelly of pastelly papers & some wonderful seam binding with a button center. The yellow butterfly is a foam sticker from a pack I bought EONS ago. I thought it looked very springy! I cut some scallop ovals for behind Tilda & embossed the green one. Once again, colored with watercolor pencils, baby oil & blending stumps (copics for skin).

Hope to see you at the LIIU challenge. But remember ..................only RUBBA!
