Let's Ink It Up- January

Welcome to the Let's Ink It Up Monthly Challenge Blog 

For the month of Januay we are challenging you to an ANYTHING GOES theme . 

That's right! ANYTHING!

This time I have chosen to highlight a sentiment. This stamp set is from CTMH (the name escapes me right now). It includes the flowers, centers & a couple sentiments. To get the different shades of flowers, I just kept stamping it over and over til all the color was off the stamp, then I moved onto a different color with a different stamp & did the same thing.  I covered almost a complete 8.5"X11" sheet of white cardstock, then I just cut off the area I wanted & placed it on my scallop nestie. Then I stamped the sentiment with Memento Black Ink. A few different ribbons and VOILA! No coloring, CAS creation!

Another Valenties SWEETY for you over at Some Odd Girl !!! 

Kristy is just knocking these digis outright ! She has been on such a roll....I get tired just thinking about it!  You simply must must must head over to the Some Odd Girl Store & check out all the new stamps !!

This is Valentines Tia. Remember she's Tiny. Tiny Tia. so put her on a smaller tag ten normal!!

I cut the tag with my cricut as well as the DP over top of the kraft base. I cut my hearts with my cricut as well. Tia is colored all with copics ...poor thing was smeary though. I HATE just replacing an ink cartridge then printing off digis.....the ink always runs, NEVER FAILS! I hope you can't tell too too much! I tried to color very carefully!

Ok so when the new Saturated Canary Challenge went up, I immediately had to make something for it ESPECIALLY after seeing the creation by Lori Boyd. OMGAWD! I love it! So not only did I do a CAS I also did a CASE job. Yup. I cased her! Thanks for the inspiration Lori!

My Sketch At Sketchy Challenges

YAY!! 

It's my turn to host the sketch at The Sketchy Challenges! 

Hope everyone's New Year is off to a great start. 

Mine started with busing my cuttlebug into pieces (ok, maybe not pieces, but busted, dont'work no more, that's for sure). I feel a shopping trip! 

As I said over at the challenge blog, I was so nervous and excited to be making a sketch for this challenge, I even misspelled my name on the watermark! LMAO! 

OMG! Silly right! 

So here's my sketch. 

And here's my take.

I have used Punker Gillian. Isn't she punkalicious! I went for a very colorful feel with all my layers of papers and ribbons. 

I did some embossing on here, but that was before my cuttlebug busted! :-(

I did some crackle painting as well. The sentiment is recycled from a card my friend gave me. And the flowers were a gift from a fellow blogger! 

Sure hope you can give my sketch a try this fortnight! 

I promise my next sketch will not be as difficult! LOL

OH MY WORD!

I was so excited when I won Bettina's Blog Candy, as soon as she sent me the Bunny Zoes Gift Cert, I went straight away shopping and got this little wee Tilda from the recent Sweet Crazy Love Set. Meet Tilda with Wrapped Heart. Papers are Stella & Rose by My Mind's Eye.....I just Adore these papers. I gotta find more of them.  (EDITED to add- I recieved the rest of Bettina's candy yesterday...HOLY CANDY! I wasn't expecting it to be that huge! thanks again Bettina! )

Flowers are a mix of misc topped with these beautiful blue ones I got a Micheals on sale, a long time ago!! The Die Cut leaves were a gift from my BFF Blogger Friend Dora.....I think I need this die too!! 

Sentiment is made of sticker words. 

My girl is colored all with copics and glittered to the max. I {HEART} my new copics!

The new year is not starting off very smooth. Posts posting without cards on them! LOL

Some Odd Blingy, bling, bling

  Happy New Year! Yay! Are you about sick of hearing "happy new year" already!?! Me too! LOL Well this is officially my first card for the new year!And it's for the Some Odd Girl  Challenge! 

Wanna know what we wanna see!?>!

This fortnight, we want to see.....................

LOTS O BLING! 

At least two types. 

Glitter, pearls, rhinestones, spritzing, spraying, foiling.........you name it. We want to see your bling !
Can you spot mine!?
I've gots pearls, gems, stickles and glittery white base cardstock. I've used In Stitches Tia clear stamp set available at the Some Odd Girl Store NOW!! I stamped her onto a heart shaped puzzle, yes the pieces came apart as I attempted to put this entire card together and thought it looked kinda neat; thus the little gaping area on the top right of the heart near the spool of thread. Then I went in & added some stitching to hold my heart together to go with the whole theme.

Overall I am pleased with how she came out! I colored her entirely with COPICS ! My Christmas present to myself (from hubby-lol). I have about 1/4 of the set now! BWahhaa!! I'm still happy with that!

OOOoooooooooooo I have a funny story to share. While making this card I was all set to use one of my die cut heart shapes and as I was running it thru my cuttlebug (with some paper shims) like this: (note the wee arrow pointing there)............

 .........I heard a big "WHAP" & the side of the cuttlebug popped off. Like a cap! POP! I screamed. There were the gears! Hubby came running & at first we couldn't figure out why this had happened then upon further inspection we noticed this ........... a gaping connection! I busted my 'bug'!! (boohoo! ) 

The circular areas there are screw holes hubby tried a couple of "Macguiver" techniques to hold it together but I'm sorry to say, my bug is done! D-O-N-E....done! 

I am now accepting donations for a new one! LOL

Not really, perhaps hubby will buy me one today when he gets paid! 

Anyways, one last shot of the card that killed my bug!

A New winner reminds me that this is a new year. 

Welcome to 2012. 

What resolutions have you made?

How many have you broken already (Day 2-3 into 2012) LOL

Sounds funny but it's reality. 

It happens. 

What I wanted to put out there is encouragement that you can 'stick to your guns' IF YOU CHOOSE. 

It's all a choice. Your choice. 

I always resolute (is that correct english?!) to stop biting my nails. 

Never happens. 

I also resolute to 'be a different person'....try not to yell at the kids, get upset easily or sweat the small things'. 

Hasn't happened yet, but I'm working real hard at it this year. 

Perhaps I'll just share with you how I live my life daily. 

"Everything Happens for a Reason"

My motto. Well, not "mine" but someone really smart came up with this, & I use it. 

Someone pisses you off, tell them. 

You love someone; they may not know it, tell them. 

Something someone did made you very happy/glad/or smile inside......tell them. 

You've just eaten a good meal, tell the Chef (heck give him/her a tip) & don't think of "do u know how much they get paid"......just do it, because. 

You see someone who has dropped their bag of groceries....stop and help them pick it up.

And the list goes on and on. 

Some of these things may not be so easy to do, like telling someone when they have made you mad, or just saying it like it is.....I have been in this position numerous times & it never gets easier. I've been in this position with my best friends & we are still friends. However some people don't like that about me, which is why I have only a handful of TRUE FRIENDS I can hang with & just be me with. 

Speaking of just being me. 

Anyone in love with the song "Someone Like You" by Adele as much as I am?!

Has anyone ever felt this way about someone? 

 I have. 

Twice. 

This song makes me cry, but also makes me happy knowing I would not be where I am today without everything happening in the past. 

"Everything happens for a reason".
