Merry Christmas..........Love from Edwin XOXOXO

So I got my surprise Magnolia Fall Collection the other day and have been aching to ink one up, just waiting on a great sketch....and it came at Just Magnolia.

First thing I did, cuz like I said I was oober excited, was color up my image, then I had to find papers to match.Turns out they are all MISC. papers and the tag end matched them perfectly (not sure where the tag end came from, but hey, who's complaining!! ) haha.

I have entered several challenges all listed over at the Steel Magnolia's blog, pls feel free to pop over there for some more Magnolia inspiration!!

HOWEVER...............before you go.....

I simply had to write about this one special challenge I am entering.
It is over at Mami Doodles (until Oct 28) & the challenge is to make Thanksgiving & Holiday cards. This challenge runs alongside Vera's Caring Heart Card Drive.
For more information of this drive pls click the link provided.

In short, the card drive is organized to collect cards for elderly people living in care homes & assisted living complexes.
This drive is inspired by Vera's mom who said, "Sometime as much as the elderly understand that it might be necessary for them to live in care center or nursing homes, it's still not an easy thing to be away from your family or being away from their home. It can be lonely and some of them might not even have anyone who would visit them. Would be nice if you can get a bunch of cards send to them".
Vera is hoping to collect cards & have them in her hand by November 15 in order to get them arranged for delivery for the appropriate holidays! She is giving away prizes, as well, for each card you send, the more times your name goes into the draw....................

For more information (ie- address of how & where to send your card, what to write inside the card, inventory list of sent items, etc)....... PLEASE CLICK HERE! & send your cards today!!! I just did!

Other Challenges for my card:
Tuesday Throwdown- anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday- anything goes

Crafty Cardmakers DT- Use a freebie!

At Crafty Cardmakers for the next two weeks we want you:

To use a Freebie.

Find a freebie image you stored in your computer from a site you happened to stumble across at one point or another or perhaps some free papers, embellies or blgin & make a card with it!

I have chosen to use a freebie offered at the  Some Odd Girl digital stamp store.
Her name is Tiny Tia.
I fell in love with her immediately!
I started off with a scallop die cut from Susie Sugar's Die Cut Dreams Store. Yellow...I know , crazy right, but I knew I wanted to use this little piece of fabric along the side (which I cut off my daughter's skirt that is too small for her anyways) & thought yellow would fit best. Then I found the pink girly paper and what goes good with pink, but brown which is also on the fabric.....so here we are!
I added WOC flowers and a pin from CTMH in the center knot of the fabric, a heart doily behind Tia & a SU punched butterfly out of the sentiment that says "you made my day".
Some bling, glitter and pearls around the scallop edge, pulls my little creation together.

We also have our spotlight challenge of FANCY FOLDS going on right now (for 1 more week) so you may as well get in on all the action and make a fancily folded creation with a freebie and enter into both linkies!!!
Come on down, we'd love to see you  at the Crafty Cardmakers challenge!!

Challenges for my card:

Some Odd Girl- use fabric
OSAAT- anything goes, embellish with favorites......( I love ALL my embellishements, specially my bling)
OCC- at least 3 diff embellies (fabric, flowers & a pin)
Stamp Insanity- live free & die cut
ABC- F for flowers
Craftalicious (10th)- anything goes
Incy Wincy- Pink & brown

The bracket and BOO words are chipboard that came as is.

Tilda Sitting Pretty

I made this set for a few different challenges. At Magolicalicious Highlights (which I won last month- WOO HOO!! ), they are wanting to see a fall creation while incorporating a brown paper bag!  How fun is that! As you can see I took pictures of the poor paper bag, before and after! What a mess, that poor little bag! haha! Card layout is from Creative Inspirations sketch.

For my card, I colored Tilda up & realized she needs to be sitting on something, so instead of cutting her out, I just drew a tree branch under her & added some leaves that I punched out of the brown paper bag with my MS leaf punch. I then dapped the leaves in orange, yellow, brown & green ink pads before adhering them.

I also used the brown paper bag as the backing beneath the lace ribbons as well as for the homemade flowers on both the card & tote bag in the top right corners. I used my scallop punch to punch out 3 scallops & I squished them up after spritzing them with water. I tried to place them to it looked pretty, then added a button center & stickles.

The buttons on the card & the bow in Tilda's hair allows me to enter my card in the Sir Stampalot Challenge of Autumn breezes with buttons & a bow!!

The tote bag was a spur of the moment decision whilst searching thru the Splitcoaststamper resources list. This tutorial was on top & I could NOT stop myself from downloading the template they have available. Click HERE to get to the direct link.

I figured the little tote would be the perfect match for my Tilda card. I stamped on the yellow cardstock with a CTMH stamp set called Key To My Heart.
I added a little tag which is a Sentimental Sunday Freebie this week & cut out the other Tilda image and placed her on the tag. With this I can enter my card into the Magnolia Down Under Challenge of Tag it!

I am headed over to post this at the Steel Magnolia's blog so feel free to pop over there as well to see some more GREAT creations by the other Steel Magnolia Girls!!

*************************************************

Whilst blog hopping the other day I noticed the challenge going on at Kenny K's Krafy Girlz Challenge Blog.
I hopped over, then hopped again to their store, where there is a GREAT special going on; that I just couldn't pass up, so  these 2 cards are the result of my 'impulse' buy!

My first card has the image Mrs. Clause on it.
Isn't she 'joyous'.....heehee!! (Gawd I wish I had boots like that! )
I colored her with watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil with my SU markers highlighting the darker areas. I added liquid applique & glitter to the "fuzzy" parts of her outfit. I also added crystal effects to the santa sack and bells on her thigh.

Ticket is from Sentiments 4 You......where the very talented and lovely Lynn has candy to be won. The more followers her store gets, the more candy get's added!!!

At the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge the theme is Christmas, where, of course I am entering this little beauty.

I have used the sketch from Christmas Stampin' All Year Long & am also entering this card in the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge where they have a recipe of 3 DP, 2 embellies & 1 colored image.
Other challenges I can enter my card in are: All Sorts (song inspiration- Santa Baby), Bah! Humbug (cuties), A Spoon Full of Sugar (winter wonderland), & Digital Tuesdays (sew special).

Santa baby, just slip a sable under the tree, for me
Been an awful good girl
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Been an angel all year

Santa honey, one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine

With some decorations bought at Tiffany

Sweet Pink Candy

Jacque's Joie de Vivre has some pink candy to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Here's what she had to say:

And now to help me celebrate the end of my PINK JOURNEY and to remind you of the importance of awareness, I would like to offer the first of my several PINK SWEET STUFFS this month. But first I need to ask you to do a BIG favor for me!! One of my past DT sisters from Belles 'n Whistles has just found out that she now has breast cancer...Elise Dinolfo, a lovely and vibrant 38 year old lady with a 4 year old little boy!! Please drop by her blog and leave a little bit of love along with alot of heap big hugs...I would love for you to let her know that I asked you to drop by!!!!! She will need all the love and support which each of you gave to me as I was going down that bumpy road!!!! Elise had not yet reached the magic age of 40 so had never had her first mammogram yet...she found those scary lumps herself. So ladies, do you now see why I am on the soapbox begging ALL of you to have the necessary testing and do those regular self-examinations...Breast Cancer does not show favorites at any age!!!!! Thank you sincerely!!!!

Candy available until Oct 15!!

Have you checked your BREASTS today?!!?!

Autumn Tilda

Yet another stamped up image from my girl, Mrs. Susie Sugar (aka- Clairee) that I was dying to color up!

I tried coloring her face with some different copics this time. Darker than my norm, but kinda suits the paper just fine. Paper is from a paper pack called "Teen Prints"......very rustic, autumny feel for sure!
I distressed  the heck out of the papers with my new TIM HOLTZ distresser. I LOVE it, but wonder, do you push away from you or pull toward you, when distressing the edges?? Advice pls people!
I used my hubbys handy-dandy sewing machine to add some depth & texture.
AND............
............used some of my NEW RAFFIA LACE !! OMG I have seen this stuff on so many creations, I just had to get my hands on some!! So I BOUGHT it, I bought it.....shh hhh don't tell hubby....pttfpt.....he knows already--- too late.

So what I have done here is stamped one of each sentiment from a SU set & distressed them accordingly, making the owner of this card the sole decision maker as to what the card is going to represent- then have extra sentiments to spare. I chose to put this specific sentiment on it, as to me, Autumn is WONDERFUL! Especially with our weathe being 25-30 degrees lately!!

And what would our lovely Tilda be without some glitter & gems!

I also have this card  posted at the STEEL MAGNOLIAS BLOG....if you haven't been there yet, you HAVE to come by & see the new look..........it is so FREAKIN' AMAZING!!!

Challenges for my card:
The Stampman- Autumn
Craftalicious- Anything goes
Kaboodle Doodles (11th)- fall colors
Stampin' for the Weekend- Autumn inspiration
CLP- sketch for October

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
