More of the "ODD" in me!

If your looking for my Creative Inspirations DT card, click HERE

***************************************************

I was so excited to take part in the Some Odd Girl (SOG) Digi Day celebrations that were happening at SNR/PCP sites yesterday!! I wasn't actually home for most of it, but the awesome part is that Digi-Day challenges aren't actually due until the next day, so I got a chance to play with more of Kristy's fabulous images.
Aside from the extended deadline for the challenges on Digi-Day, there are also other games, occassional freebies, chit chat sessions, points to be earned for SOG store purchases & discounts to the SOG Store.
I was lucky enough to snag one of those discount codes. Phew!! I got me some more images..........I just love them. They are so cute & different (in a good way) than other images I've used.

**********************************************

So let's begin.
One of the challenges on Digi-Day (which happens once a month) was to make a holiday card without a holiday sentiment. I used my newly purchased "Big Pressie Tia" to make this card. Isn't she cute & so small next to that big, ginormous present! I used BG papers & 'wrapping ribbon' (feels like paper) to make the ginormous bow near the bottom. The sentiment tag is from Sentiments 4 You.

Challenges for my holiday-non holiday sentiment card:
Incy Wincy- sketch
Creative Inspirations- a pink Christmas
Creative Cottage- someone special at Christmas
Crafty Catz- paper tearing
Secret Crafter Saturday- sparkle & shine

***************************************************

Another challenge yesteday was to make a masculine card.
Here I used my "Hip Kody" to make a card for my son. Actually, from one son to the other was what I had in mind as this little dandy came together. Again BG papers, some blue raffia ribbon on the top and some suede strips for the other ribbon accents. The charm sentiment says it all. A few buttons in the corners and Voila! My masculine creation.

Both cards I colored their faces with copics and the rest of them with watercolor pencils, baby oil and blending stumps!

Hopefully I am able to get in on the next Digi Day in December! And you should to.....

Challenges for my masculine card-
Paper Sundaes- blue & ribbon
Simon Says- card for a man (add a charm)
Pixie Dust Studio Challenge- all about boys/men

Enjoy the rest of your wknd!!!

Lest we forget.

In Flanders Fields.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

I have made a card for this very special day when lives were lost fighting for the freedom of others.
Whenever I go to the Remembrance Day ceremony at my daughter's school I feel the tears well up in my eyes (even as I write this, they are here again) & the goosebumps on my skin.....
just listening to the TAPS and hearing the names of fallen soldiers,
makes me thankful to them!
Thankful for my family. Thankful for my friends.
Thankful to be alive.

*********************************************

My card features an image from Prairie Fairy Designs called Watering Can.
The arrangement in the pot are poppies.
A beautiful arrangement I have highlighted using the spotlighting technique. You can also highlight an image by reverse spotlighting as well.
I have embossed the paper beneath the red Jute with a flower embossing plate resembling poppies, then I sponged red distress ink over top. I got these fabulous Jute & Gingham ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbons! Paper is misc.

Sentiment is from the Cutting Cafe & I used a circle scallop frame from CTMH to highlight it!
Can you see the little NAVY  charm I added ?

I added stickles wherever I could! I colored my imge with watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil!

I hope you take a moment of silence out of your day today to remember the meaning of November 11th.

I added liquid applique to Tilda's hat and sleeves, then sprinkled it with glitter & let it dry naturally.

*****************************

PHOTO FIRST:
I'd like to introduce you to my 3 kids. Hannah 9 yrs, Reade 3 yrs & Merik 7 months all dressed for Halloween!

*********************************************

Now......for the task at hand!
For the next two weeks at Prairie Fairy Fun Friday we want you to:

MAKE YOUR OWN FLOWERS

There are plenty of tutorial for this out there. Like this one. Or this one. Or numerous other ones on Splitcoaststampers !

I used the image from Prairie Fairy Designs, called Sugar Fairy.
I added brads to the center of my flowers & to the bigger flower I added a crocheted flower from CTMH. I sponged it with a little bit of orange & yellow color.
All of the paper is S.E.I. Moonrise collection. I love the bling that it provides.
Sketch is Card Patterns.

In the picture below I tried to get a good shot of the crystal effects I added to the coffee/tea within the cup.

We hope to see you at Fairy Fun Friday this week for our challenge. If you can't participate, at least come give the DT a little bit of love.....we've been making flowers 'out the ying-yang'!!

Challenges for my card:

Wee Memories - anything goes

GDT card for Digi's With Attitude!

This is post #2 for today. For Fairy Fun Friday DT card, stay tuned.
For Fussy & Fancy DT card, scroll down.

**************************************************

I was so super honored when Cindy-Lynn of Digi's With Attitude! asked me to be a GDT for her challenge. Her digi's of 'Grumpy Gretchens' are unique & one of a kind, kinda like me, maybe that's why I like them!! haha
The 'Grumpy Gretchen' line has been expanded this month & we get to work with the new releases.
To see these new releases, hop on over to the Digi's With Attitude! store.

ALSO- there will be 3 new Gretchens released every week this month!! You don't wanna miss them!

Let's get started shall we. At the Digi's With Attitude! challenge this week we want to see:

A WESTERN THEME.

Get out those horses, cowboy boots, cowboy hats & start line dancin' over to this challenge for a chance to win some My Grafico papers as well as a $10.00 gift cert to the Digi's With Attitude! Store.

The lace trim I got at our local fabric shop that is closing down. I asked the person I was with if I should buy it......(bags & bags of it- different colors, styles, designs) & she said "if you plan on putting curtains on your cards. Lots of curtains." We both laughed after I told her to 'shut up'.
So I bought it (well a couple bags anyways) and thought it would add a little feminity to my rough & tumble, sexy, saucy  'Grumpy Gretchen Cowgirl'.
Oxymoron much?
By the way, the sentiment is from the Digi's With Attitude! store as well.
The flowers are WOC.

Now let's see your interpretation of Western!!
Remember it does not have to be a Digi's With Attitude! image, but we would love if you used them!

Challengs for my card:
Incy Wincy- anything goes
Lexi's Creations- anything goes
Paper Players- anything goes
