Totally Tilda DT- How Does Your Garden Grow?

Woo Hoo........it's another Totally Tilda Challenge-

We want to see your Tilda front & center asking the question:

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Make it flowery, make it pirdy!
Put her in a garden of fruit or vegies, but make sure it all makes sense.
We don't want to see Pirate Tilda in a garden!
Seriously people, get your thinking caps on! lol
Not sure what to do, head over to the Totally Tilda Blog and check out the DT inspirations!
And don't be afraid to ask questions!

I colored this image some time ago, in anticipation of the perfect card,& the time has come to use her!
I used some flowery DP, added some blingy flower brads to the ribbons coming off each corner of the shape Tilda is on. I added layers & layers & layers of flowers to the bottom left corner. I made swirly vine type thingys with my cricut & I even crimped the pink ones!
YES, I got a crimper for Christmas, from my baby girl (Hannah- 9 yrs old). Mwah!
I also punched some green leaves to add to the mix!

Sentiment is from Sentimental Sundays (a new freebie every week with their challenges).

What kind of garden are you going to put Tilda in?!?!

My SOME ODD GIRLS that is!
It's been a while since I have done anything with my SOG digis, so thought I would take part in a couple of challenges they are having. One at their Challenge Blog and one at their SNR group page for the early bird challenge!

*******************************

So the early bird Digi Day Challenge is to make a bookmark.
I have opted to make a corner bookmark, since I've never done one before and OMG it is so easy peasy! I LOVE IT! You can find the tutorial HERE.
This is for my daughter (an avid reader- when she wants to be) & she loves to do nothing more than swim in the summer-time. A fish at heart, she is! So I used Mermaid Kaylee, added some pearl flourishes, bling and a seashell embellie! A bit of glitter never hurt either !

***********************************************

This next SOG creation I made with Flyin' High Mae & I made it for the SOG Challenge of Hearts, hearts, hearts! Sentiment is from a SU set that I made to kinda look like words kites. Ya?! I know, a failed attempt ! Papers are from a CTMH paper pack I have had for ages! I cut all the little hearts on my cricut & placed some of my wee-est buttons on a few of them!

Thanks for looking. I am also  entering my creations into the following challenges:

Our Creative Corner- cut it out (bookmark)

Fairy Fun Friday DT- It's in the Fine Print

WOO HOO WAY to rock out those SWEETHEART creations at Fairy Fun Friday last week!!
YAHOO!!

Now for the next two weeks at  Fairy Fun Friday we have a little something different for you to challenge yourself with. The challenge is called:

IN THE FINE PRINT

We are not necessarily looking for a sentiment on your cards, rather we want to see what your card says with what the background paper & materials say. What is the message you are trying to get across with the words hanging around on your card?
Sound fun?
I have chosen the image called Pokin' Puddles from Prairie Fairy Designs.
The paper in the background is from a Tim Holtz paper pack & as you can see from the above picture, on the very top of my card the 'fine print' says MEMORY. I have placed a frosted heart in the frame at the top of the card as well & the ribbon made into a bow at the bottom says REMEMBER  on it! OMG I have had this ribbon FOREVA!!
I adhered some sticker buttons & 3 diff types of ribbon, including my beloved raffia!  I finished things off with some distressing & sponging.
As always I colored with watercolor pencils (copics for skin).

Oh yes, I also added crystal effects to the water, to appear more lifelike.
I will be giving this card to my brother, his wife & my 2 nephews as they recently had to put their dog down (after 14 yrs). They live in the city about 1.5 hrs away, but have a cabin, with a waterfront lot, nearby to us; & I can totally see one of my nephews longingly playing in the water, remembering their cherished pet, Rousseau. :-(

ON THAT CHIPPER NOTE--LOL--
Hop on over to Fairy Fun Fridays with your Fine Print creation!

Challenges for my card:
Creative Card Crew- for a loved one
ABC Challenge- N for neutrals
Fab'n'Funky- tempting texture
Crafty Cardmakers- spotlight WATER
Kaboodle Doodles- break out the ribbon stash

Everybody's doing it!

Everywhere I look Less is More is the way to go, especially over at the new challenge blog! You see, I am all about the premise that MORE IS BETTER! But not in this case!
So, I did it. I did the Less is More way with pink, white & black! Wow, how I wanted to distress those edges, add some bling, buttons, ribbons & bows. ALL of my papers were calling me!!! But I said "no way papiere, NOT TODAY"!!
I figured with Valentines just around the corner, there were bound to be some engagements, right?

I got out my long lost Garden Whimsy set from SU (one of my first purchases 3 yrs ago) & the rest is history. I got the little ring embellies from Hobby Lobby in November.
On the inside I stamped just one heart, like the one you see here, in case I need it for a wedding card.

Challenges for my card:
Less is More- pink, black & white
Papertake Weekly- have a heart
A Spoon Full of Sugar- let's see some love

*******************************************

Everyone's doing this too! Well almost everyone.

A Special Birthday Card & TOPS

It's my father in law's 80th birthday tomorrow & can you believe I didn't have a card handy! BWahahaa!
So I made this card yesterday. The image is from Prairie Fairy Designs & is called Harbour Gulls. I used a sketch being offered at Karitas blog. She is offering some candy, but to be in the 'running', she is asking for you to create something using her sketch then enter Mr. Linky. This is not a challenge, it is simply a sketch to follow in order to be in the drawing for her candy ! And since I adore her work, I simply had to get in on this chance!
What a wonderful idea!
I have a blogaversary coming up & am currently gathering some candy to offer up at the end of the month and perhaps I'll 'borrow' Karita's idea to be creative to be in the chance to win (rubs hands together with evil grin)!! lol
I digress.
I don't think I've eva layered so much in  ALL MY LIFE!
I distressed almost every piece of paper with my Tim Holtz distressing tool then sponged with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink pad. OH what fun!

Maybe you think this card is a bit to 'froo-froo' for a male card, what with the bow & pearls & all, but I just think of them as final touches! My hubby says he'll love it! I'll tell you how it goes!

******************************************
TOPS
For a page from a scrapbook I am putting together for my brother & his family!! I'm so pleased!! MWAH!!
Thank You Frosted Designs!

Special Totally Tilda DT- EGG-stra Special Easter Challenge

Totally Tilda is having an EGG-STRA mid-month special EASTER Challenge.
This co-insides with our regular LOTS O' HEARTS challenge going on as well!!
From Feb 7- Feb 21 NOON
We want your Tilda to be the center of attention surrounded by easter stuffs including eggs! Lots & LOTS o' eggs! OK maybe not drowning in eggs, but you must have at least 1 egg on your creation to qualify for the special prize being offered by Lynne at Sentiments 4 You. She also provided us with sentiments for this challenge.
Now , when this challenge was presented to us, I blanked.
I don't have any Tilda with bunny ears, nor do I own the Magnolia Egg Doohickey Die thingy  (LOL- i don't even think that exists??!!LOL)...........so I turned to my Spring-like Tildas & my scrapbooking embellies!

I picked my papers first so I knew exactly what colors to color Tilda with & the rest fell together.
The crimped butterfly came in a pack of other crimped shapes I bought years ago, as did the Easter embellies.....they are all from one pack. I also added some Flower Soft to the ground where Tilda is standing.

The sentiment attached to the butterfly hiding in behind Tilda is from Sentiments 4 You.

The sentiment is from Sentitmental Sundays, where every Sunday, they give away free sentiments for download. They are always fantastic.

Papers are CTMH.
Large brown lace ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons, the beige lace is from Dollarama and the band  of burgandy fabric on the top is recycled from a kitchen chair cushion we used for the kids to make them look 'bigger' while sitting at the table.
The little heart charm beneath the flowers is also recycled from my daughters bracelet that broke. I stole it! hee hee.

This pin was part of a Christmas gift from my BFF!

Hope to see you at the Stamping Vacation PICK 3 Challenge this month where the prize is a $25.00 gift cert to a store of the winner's choice!
