Mojo meets Dotty Men......

Here is a spaceship.....yup a spaceship.....a digital image from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps....image is actually called "Spaceships" and comes with 2 other spaceships as well.
Enuf with the word spaceships already.......geesh!
I made a birthday card with 'my image' in preparation for upcoming birthdays. I figured boys are more into the color blue  (& the dreaded word 'spaceships' [shudder] haha) so that is the monotone color I went with for the Cards for Men challenge.

I used the MoJo Monday sketch & instead of a ribbon & bow on the bottom, I used these sticky felt letters & a brad. I hope that is ok!

Also the DP I used for the background & middle-back-ground (make sense?) has lots o' dots on them allowing me to enter Your Next Stamp Challenge of going dotty.
Yay for me for using yet more of my daughter's leftover friendship bracelet beads on the spaceship lights! Gives it a freaky kinda look dontcha think.

Hope you all had a good 'hump' day!

My daughter..........

This is my daughter Hannah. She is 9. Just turned 9 on April 9.
She recieved a gift certificate from Roberta (aka Prairie Fairy) for highlights. Hannah had the idea for highlights long before her birthday, so with all her birthday cash (because apparently that's what kids get nowadays- CASH) she wanted to get streaks! Thanks to Aunty Roberta she could save her cash.

OMG she looks so much older! I love it! Absolutly love it. (oh ya, here is her before pic at Easter time).

YIKES!

"Let's go to the HOP.......o baby....."

I feel a hop a startin' !! Prairie Fairy & Paper Temptress are brewing something up!! Stay tuned!!

Currently undergoing changes!

I am becoming a three column blog. Bare with me. Should have reconstruction done soon!

Snow Fairy Fun

Let me just start by saying that this is my 19th Christmas Card since the beginning of January. I am well on my way to having 50 Christmas Cards come Christmas time, thanks to all these wonderful Christmas Card Challenges.

Next let me apologize to all of you whose blogs I do not respond to regularily. Until recently I can honestly say I was a 'Dashboard Virgin'. Until someone mentioned that they saw my candy on their dashboard, I never really knew what that "Dashboard" was for. So again, I apologize and will try to make more of an effort to follow-back my followers who visit regularily.

If you don't see me in a while, pls let me know, cuz really I am not a snobby-blogger! For Real! I'm not! haha.

Onto my card.
The image is from (you guessed it) Prairie Fairy Designs & it is called Snow Fairy Fun. I used the sketch from Twisted Sketches...turned it on it's side & elongated it onto my easle card......for the Dutch Dare Challenge (where I repeated my paper & ribbon & added buttons to the base). I am also going to be entering the blog hop challenge over at the TownScrapper. This is the 2nd part of their 2 part blog hop & the theme is "Girlie". I missed the first part  & have yet to check out all the  blogs for the 2nd part, but rest assured when I am done, my card is sooooooooooooooo there!!!!!

This is also an entry for Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club Challenge where the theme is to use one of the following words (Joy, Noel, Peace). Mrs. Prairie Fairy herself is sponsoring their challenge this week, so head on over & check out what she's offering up as a prize!!
And over at Bah!Humbug the idea is to provide a "Pinkylicious" Christmas project. Hopefully this one works for ya'll!!
And finally at Winter Wonderland challenge the theme is anything goes!
***************************************************************************
I am soooooooooooo excited because after cleaning out my daughters room the other day & ending up with numerous garage sale items, lotsa stuffs for our local 2nd hand store & 1 lrg black garbage bag filled with junk to the rim....I ended up scoring her friendship bracelet material that she just didn't want anymore. So here on the card in the corner of the top part I put some little pink beads! There are so many great colors & sizes to chose from, I just don't know where to begin !!

Snowflakes & ice!

It's snowing over here in Canada.............OK not really, but I am making a card that has to do with snowflakes & ice.

First of all let me just mention that the image I used is from Prairie Fairy Designs. He is called Hockey Beary & he fit the next two challenges perfectly.

Over at Fab's Big Christmas Cards Challenge the theme is Snowflakes & embossing. I am not sure if you can tell, but I embossed the light blue paper (behind Hockey Beary) with snowflakes.

And over at ABC Christmas Challenge the theme is ICE with the extra of snowflakes.
Underneath Hockey Beary's skates, there is ice. I added a thick layer of crystal effects to simulate that! I am not sure if you can really tell. I also added some liquid applique to the "ice" to make it look like snow.

The sketch is from MoJo Monday.

As previously mentioned, I am in the process of redoing my daughter's room & we are halfway done. Just need to clean up the walls, buy some shelves, put them up and add a couple little do-dads & VOILA!!
Will post pics at a later date.

Just trying to keep busy...........

Oh boy, where do I begin. I went out yesterday (shopping)...........I don't get out much lately being on maternity leave with 3 kids (thank goodness 1 is in school) .................& once I got into the store I was like a kid in a candy shop! I didn't even know where to begin (to buy stuff) as I want to redo my daughters room (on a budget of course) & I want stuff for crafting & I want storage containers for my embellies & hubby needs stuff for his business..............oh man, my mind is racing!
In the meantime, however, I was able to pull this little card together. Took me 3 days, but hey as each day passed I realized I was eligible for more challenges. YAY!

The image is one I stamped from my friend Kelly over at Kelly's Kreative Korner & honestly don't know her name! I really should've wrote the name of the stamps when I stamped them, but of course I didn't!
I colored her with watercolor pencil crayons, baby oil and blending stumps. My new favorite technique!

The challenges for 'my little girl card' are Creative Inspirations Challenge (3 flowers, 2 DP & 1 ribbon), Cute Card Thursday (sketch), Pixie Dust Studio Challenge (tag it), Charisma Cardz Challenge (quote me), Dare U 2 Digi Stamp (flowers), & Stamp Something (Charmed Somethings). I am also entering this card in the Totally Gorjuss Challenge, of course I am not sure if this is a Gorjuss image or not, I suppose they'll let me know!!

So that's my card for today. And this is my purchase from yesterday. Yup, it is a holder for a man's (or woman's), nuts, bolts, screws, washers etc. I bought it & asked hubby if he would use it should it not work out for me!! He said sure.
BUT LOOK AT IT! IT'S FULL !  I have 3 empty compartments. I could honestly use another, except with bigger compartments like the ones on the bottom.
Hubby said he will mount this on the wall for me later! I am soooooooooooo happy!
(Yes, I got stuff for my daughters room too and will be organizing that later today, perhaps we;ll take before & after shots of that!)

Have a great day!

Beggin'

I can't hardly believe it is Friday AGAIN.....where did this last week go!
It is time for another Fairy Fun Friday Challenge. This week the theme is to distress your card. Sponge, tear, sand.....do whatever you have to do to distress your cards.  This is my DT card & the image is compliments of  Prairie Fairy Designs and like the title of my post suggests, it is called "Beggin' ".

I made it into a thank you card, as I seem to still be behind on my thank you for gifts for my new babe. Yup going on 7 weeks later and I'm so far behind I think I'm first!!

The sketch is from Pollycaft Monday & the tearing allows me to enter this card in the Die-Cut Dreams challenge. Also at the Fab'n'Funky challenge blog they are asking you to 'get it all out' & use stash that you haven't used in FOREVER! I have not used my doggy paper pack or stickers in a long, long, long time. I don't know if you can tell but the first paper I tore has doggy bones on it, and the DP with all the circles if from the same pack as are the 'Thank you' letter stickers! I bought this pack for my puppies scrapbook and after doing a few pages 2 yrs ago, I set it aside. I AM SO BAD!!!
Buttons & felty flowers are from Scrapaganza last weekend. Yup, some of my new purchases!!

Hope everyone has a fantabulous day!

Freebie & DT tryout..............

Ok, so this WAS a freebie over at the Prairie Fairy blog, for her DT call, however is no longer there. I believe her name is 'Daisy Fairy' & I am hoping it becomes an image you can purchase in her online Digital Store- Prairie Fairy Digital Designs. Feel free to pop over and check out her other images, they are simply adorable!!

Aside from the challenges listed below, I am also entering this card in the DT call over at Pile it On! (Spring) ......so wish me luck & cross your fingers!!!

I chose to color this fairy just as busily as the background. I think she turned out ok. The sketch is Friday Sketchers & this challenge ends tomorrow. Hopefully I am not too late.
I have also chose to enter my fairy in the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog (April flowers/showers) & A Spoon Full of Sugar (Happy Birthday).

I am soooooo happy to have gotten some bling last weekend at Scrapaganza! I was just aching to use it and I finally found a card to accomodate it!! YAY!!

I must run now as my 6 wk old is crying (nap time) & my 2 yr old is emptying all the toys out of his room and brining them outside, since it is such a beautiful day. Maybe I'll go take a nap in the sun, when both of them nap!??!?!

Don't forget to check out my candy!!

Karen's Doodles

Imagine my delight & surprise when I awoke this morning to find Karen's Doodles UK Challenge to be a monochromatic scheme. I made this card a while ago when I first purchased the image and thought the browns really accented the image!! This image is called "Love me Forever" and can be purchased at Karen's Doodles blog.

Other Challenges are:
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge- open, anything goes
Stamp Something- layered

Morley Dancing.

This is Morley & he is Dancing...................funny enough, we (at Prairie Fairy Designs) call this image Morley Dancing! He can be purchased here.
He is dancing because it is Christmas over at Bah! Humbug! (Santa Paws-festive furry friends). He is also dancing because green is his favorite color which suits the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge (green as main color)
Me? I am dancing as I am happy to be following the Card Patterns Sketch for this week. I LOVE Card Pattern sketches the mostest (is that even a word?). I am also very happy as I purchased my very first copic markers this past weekend. Cool Gray & Warm Gray for outlining images! I think I used warm gray around mr. Morely.

And this shot is to show you mr. Morley's fluffy boots & sparkly scarf! Dontcha just love Christmas (in April)!! haha!

In2stamps CANDY!

In2stamps is 6 months young and is having a celebratory candy giveaway for their 5th release on April 5. Unfortunately I can't Copy & Paste all the information from their blog on to mine (me & hubby have tried), so you are going to have to check out their blog for all the glorious details as the contents of the candy!! YUMMY CANDY!!

Red & White Vintage with Stitches Sketch

A card for all reasons (if you will)!!

For Susie & Vikki's Christmas Card Challenge (vintage), I was inspired to make this card. The paper & flowers I got at Scrapaganza this past weekend. I am rusty with the whole vintage thing but as the saying goes "practice makes perfect". The stamp is from the Stampin Up set "Holy Triptych"- a set I have not used in AGES, therefore qualifiying me for Fab'n'Funky challenge of no longer neglected. The Sketch is from Twisted Sketches (for cards- not to be mistaken for the scrapbook sketches). At All Sorts this week the theme is 'In Stitches' (real or faux- I chose real) & at Rosie D's Challenge Blog the challenge is Red & White.
I am off to bed now. I am fighting a cough & cold; feeling kinda yucky but refreshed as morning comes! I hope to be posting some BLOG CANDY soon, so tell all your friends!

Doing other things!

I was not able to get any card making done today as I was busily packing for Scrapaganza. Some of you may have heard us Prairie Fairies throwing this word around lately, so let me take a moment to enlighten you. Scrapaganza is GREAT. It is a Scrapping event held in a little town about an hour from where we live. Scrapaganzas are probly held everywhere, but I like to think we have the best one here in Manitoba, Canada! It starts at 8 am & goes until 8pm. We like to get there by 7-7:15 am as the line up for "the best" table starts as early as 6:45-7 am; then the doors open & it is, literally, a mad rush for tables! There are numerous vendors there (CTMH, Creative Memories and so forth), there is a graduated sale room where throughout the day the price of the items in the room goes down by 5% each hour. By the end of the day, anything left in that room is free. There is a 10cent paper room. There is a shuttle to take participants of Scrapaganza to the local Scrapbooking store where there are many more great deals to be found. There are also great prizes to be won throughout the day. They have little make & takes set up for people to take part in as well as a bigger class for a more complex project. Last year we made coasters! If you spend $100.00 at any of the above named places combined, you get a "free" gift at the end of the day. Oh did I mention that we also get lunch, supper and snacks!!!?!?!?!? Naturally one has to pay for a ticket to go to Scrapaganza & there is usually a waiting list to attend(I think there are usually around 200 participants). I am so excited to have gotten a ticket at the last moment!

Onto my project! Here we have a collage picture taken by a photographer who took my maternity & newborn (& family pictures). You can check out more of her work at Amber Bond Photography What I did was take an old picture frame, turn the mat around & decorated the frame to suite the picture of my 3 (sometimes) adorable children! Reade 2.5 yrs, Hannah 9 yrs & Merik 8 days old.

I used various Stampin up Stamp sets for the stamping parts, incuding "Priceless", "Warm Words", "Curvy Verses" & "Garden Whimsy".

I used a bit of glitter around different stamps and used pink, 2 shades of blue, brown, black and yellow from my ink collection.

The riboon on the side is misc., but thought it matched somewhat nicely.

And the word LOVE is from a set of clear alphabet stamps I purchased long before I even knew I was an avid stamper. I saw a deal and I nabbed it. This was the first time I actuallyused this alphabet stamp set and rather love it!

That's all I have for ya! I will not be back until Sunday (maybe) perhaps Monday?! Post Scrapaganza recovery you know! HAHA!! Wish me luck!

Hip-Hip Horray......it's a card for a birthday!

Before I get to my card, I first must say HIP-HIP HORRAY for me for winning at Susies' Sassy Challenge this week, which is also the final week of their challenge :-( ! Bitter Sweet, I must say. Also YAY for doing my dusting ( I HATE DUSTING!)

As for my card, here we have Norman the Hippo. This lil fella is one of the Prairie Fairy's images and can be purchased here. This lil fella is also named after the Prairie Fairy's dad AND he has a girlfriend named Helen the hippo (who is the Fairy's mom). Now I dunno if her parents know that they are being made so popular by a couple of cutie patootie hippos, but hey when an artist gets inspiration, she better run with it!!

I am so excited to be able to enter this card in a few different challenges, as I've said in my previous post, I have fallen a bit behind lately!! The sketch is MoJo Monday, & Norman's outifit (shirt & pocket) fits into the Digital Tuesday Challenge of 'paper piecing-digital style'. This is only the second time I've attempted paper piecing & must admit I prefer to do it digitally!

My lil Norman is also covered & surrounded by lots of different shades of blue which ranks him into the Charisma Cardz Challenge of monochromatic colors. Also, for the Pink Elephant Challenge of thier latest recipe (1 image, 2 die cuts & 3 of fav. embelly) I have 1 Norman, 2 die cut shapes (around Norman & for the sentiment) & 3 buttons (I also LOVE flowers so there are 3 of those as well). Finally for Cute Card Thursday (touchy feely) we have everything I listed above from buttons, to paper flowers to a cut out shirt & pocket with a brad.
I am off to pack for Scrapaganza now!!!

Versatility & Busyness!

So I finally got to sit down with my card making supplies & whip off a couple cards.
It has been a few days since my last post, as I got hit with the stomach flu in the wee hours of Sunday morning & spent the entire day Monday recovering. I had the shakes, hot flashes, a temp of 38.7 degrees, aches, pains & the runs. Too much info, I know, but hey, we'll all friends here!! haha! Tuesday I started these cards, & this a.m. I finished them.

I used the same image for both cards & fully intended to make them both get well cards, but then thought what better way to make ONE image more versatile then to use it for different types of cards. The image is from the Prairie Fairy & is called Snails Tail. This image & many others can be purchased at the Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp Store.

Both of my cards are based on the Card Patterns Sketch (with extras). The above card is good for Pollycraft Mondays (pink, brown & green or yellow [I chose yellow]) & Your Next Stamp Challenge (stitching).
The card below is a birthday card & the inside says "......to grow up! Happy Birthday"
I know I am a bit early but this card is my DT card for Fairy Fun Fridays where the theme is eyelets & string. My alternative to string is hemp.
I am entering this card in Creative CArd Crew (happy birthday).
Now as for my busyness.....since I lost a couple day with being sick I have realized how far behind the housework has gotten. I need to go do laundry, mop floors & get rid of all those lil dust bunnies on my shelves and under my bed! A--Choo!! Ifeel better but now the kids are sneezing with runny noses! Do the illnesses ever end~ To top it off I have to get ready for Scrapaganza this weekend- 8 am - 8 pm full day of scrapbooking, card making and crafting!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
See you soon!

Summer Fun!

I was inspired by last weeks weather to produce this card. I was also inspired by some purchases I made the other day whilst shopping my little heart out. The image for my card is called "Summer Fun" & it is a digital image from the Prairie Fairy. This image can be purchased at her online store here.

I have had this image printed for a while but was never sure of what to do with it until I purchased these adorable little seashell buttons at Dollarama. They are all pretty much the same color on one side (see top of card), but are different colors on the other side (see bottom of card). I knew I HAD to come straight home & use these buttons to accent this great image.

I colored the image with the watercolor pencils , baby oil & blending stump technique I learned from the Prairie Fairy. You too can do this wonderful coloring by checking out her tutorial at her PCP planet site, under discussions. The tag, paper & closepin are misc., as are the button sea shells. The hemp twine is CTMH and the sentiment is Stampin' Up, along with an embellishment from SU Hodge Podge Hardware.

Challenges for my card are:

A Spoon Full of Sugar- one for the boys

Sassy Designs by Susie- me & my pet

Dare U 2 Digi-Stamp- metal

MoJo Monday- sketch

The Pink Elephant- nature

I'm off to celebrate my daughter's birthday now (she's 9). Swimming at the local pool & overnight stay in a hotel with 3 friends should make for a happy birthday girl! G'night!

Color inspiration challenge.

This week at Fairy Fun Fridays we have a color inspiration challenge based on the picture below! I thought for sure I was done for with all the yellows, oranges, pinks & reds altogether, but upon searching through various paper holders, I found some paper that I got at the Scrapaganza (held in Stonewall, MB) that fit perfectly! As I admired the paper & thought about how sad I was that I was not going to be able to make it there this year (April 17- as I thought leaving 3 kids with dad for a 9-9'er day was simply too much).......low and behold the phone rang.................................

..............who was it on the phone you ask??!?! It was a fellow scrapper, asking me if I wanted her ticket to Scrapaganza this year! DO YOU BELIEVE IT! I was shocked, surprised, & happy thinking this was definitely a 'sign' that I am destined to go!!! So I have yet to speak with hubby about it, however, have already arranged for my mom to come watch the kids (as back up with hubby)!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO SUPER EXCITED!!! Now onto my card!

The image is from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps store and is called "Fairy Little". I was unsure as to what I was going to do with her & her reaching arms when I remembered the great purchases I made the other day while in Selkirk at Dollarama! I bought these 'paper, look-a-like rose flowers' with stems for $1.00 (6/pack). I also bought the ribbon & green pearls you see pictured as well!! Yay for me!
This is my second attempt at an Easle card & am pleased with the way it turned out!
I also searched thru various blogs in the attempt to perfect my coloring, so this is what you get! Not the greatest, but hey what do u expect from an amateur!!
I am able to enter this card in a couple other challenges including: Charisma Cardz Challenge (thank you)& Pixie Dust Studio Challenge (things with wings)!

Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club Challenge.

The challenge theme over at Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club blog is 'Reindeer'. And this/these is/are my entry/entries. When this whole 'make a Christmas card a week' thing began, I thought "heck may as well make a few extra along the way"! So I started making cards with a Stampin Up set I purchased.
I altered the designs ever so slightly for each of the 3 cards. I used earthy tones and ribbon I purchased from the dollar store! They all came in the same package and I just love the colors! A few eyelets and a scallop stamp and punch; both from Stampin' up, finished off my cards!
Colored with Stampin' Up markers.
On a side note: Congrats to a fellow Prairie Fairy DT member- LORI- for becoming a DT member of Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club Challenge blog!!! YAY LORI- it's high time your talent got noticed girl!!!

Missing my Fairies!

I have been going thru Fairy withdrawal...........so I decided to make a card with one of Prairie Fairy's images. This image is called Tea Party and can be purchased here along with many other great images!
This card is for a few different challenges including the Card Patterns Challenge for which my on line digi-boss (The Prairie Fairy) is sponsoring.
Other challenges for this card include Delightful Sketches (buttons & bling), Your Next Stamp Challenge (purple), The Stamping Vacation Pick 3 Challenge ( I chose 1. dry embossing 2. Die cut machine 3.using 2 of any embellishment [button flowers] 4.make it glitter ) I hope to use this as a birthday card when the time comes! Wonder how happy people are as they get older, perhaps I should reconsider the sentiment! HAHA!

So far, not so good- yet doing great with 2 posts today!

Where to start?? We celebrated Easter yesterday; kids didn't get too much from 'the Easter bunny' however that did not stop them from getting tons of junk from everyone else.....causing my dear daughter to 'get sick' in the middle of the night! She was home from school this am & proceeded back to school this afternoon. God bless her heart, the last thing she wants right now is anymore chocolate! But don't listen to us when we tell you to stop, we're only your parents!

So that was not so good, (as was the fact that I totally missed the below color/image inspiration challenge over at Karen's Doodles!!! AGAIN I was so mad to have missed yet ANOTHER challenge......& as if that wasn't enough)EDIT (April 6)-thank you to the ladies who informed me that the Karen's Doodles (UK challenge) is still accepting submissions; I was able to enter that challenge afterall!! Thanks for watching my back GALS!!! ...................I also missed the challenge for which the sketch was inspired from!! What the heck is wrong with me lately???!

Regardless I figured I may as well post the card I was inspired to make by the above image! The image on my card is from Karen's Doodles & is called 'Little Easter Puppy'. I just love it! AND it's a freebie! How amazing!! Challenges I DID get to enter with this card are:
Rosie D's Challenge- blessings (for Easter)
Cute Card Thursday- Easter theme or oval shape
Charisma Cardz Challenges- Animal madness
Fab'n'Funky Challenges- Spring is in the Air
Pollycraft Mondays- anything goes

My next post for today is for Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge for a theme of tone on tone (preferably green, however any color is acceptable). I chose blue tones! AND for ABC Christmas Card Challenge -G for glitz (bling, shine &/or sparkle). The sketch is from Friday Sketchers.
EDIT- I wonder if posting one day sooner falls within the rule & regulations for challenges; because I would also like to enter this card in the Digital Tuesday Challenge of blue, white +1 other color! If this is not allowed, I totally understand! Pls someone help me with these blog rulz! The image is one from Mo's Digital Pencil Store & is called Noelle Bearing Gifts! I recently purchased my first few digital images from Mo & am absolutely in love with them!

Here's to hoping I've seen the last of chocolate in our house!! I'm off to get supper started now! Take CAre.
