Sketch Saturday GDT Final post!!

Well it's my last post for my Sketch Saturday GDT spot! *crying*
It has been great working with these awesome sketches, Thanks again Tracey for asking me to join you!
This week we have another unique design for you to try!

And here is my take on it!
I have used an image that i won for posting my top creations for 2011.
This is Summer from Funky Kits! I have never colored up one of these shaded images before and I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed it! This image totally makes me want to get outside and enjoy the warm weather we are having!
Papers are misc from my stash, including that sparkly beige background paper. Isn't it lovely!!
Flowers and wee butterflies are from Bettina's candy that I won!
Ribbon is from CTMH and the charm is a Tim's special!

This little girl is obviously imagining a world of possibilities. Ah to have the innocence of a child!

Thanks so much for all your comments during my stint as a Sketch Saturday girl.
I greatly appreciate them!

Challenges for my card:

Sassy Sugarbowl

Oh Bleh, are we fighting a cold in our house!
Sinuses are stuffed to the max!
Thank goodness for sinutab especially at night......I am able to sleep like a log.

It's been a while since I made a card for the fun of it AND a card for the SugarBowl Challenge! Gawsh I just lurve their sketches! Not enough hours in the day I tell ya! Or days in the week! LOL
I believe I won this Sassy Stamp from Sassy Saturday draw, back when the Sassy blog was still in operation.......hmmmmmm.........how I miss that inspiration!
Meet Amelia
I used some of Tim Holtz papers & at first thought, "meh, not really liking how this is coming together", but now that the pictures are all up......I really do love it! ALOT!
What else do u see here........chipboard, chipboard and more chipboard including my Tim Holtz heart, crown & wings die (the heart is on the inside of the card). Oh and I also used some of my Tim Holtz distress ink to sponge and distress crackle paint to color my wings and crown.

As you read this I am on the road to Souris, Manitoba for an agency shift. It's about a 4 hr drive and with Spring Break here AND with our recent surprise snowfall , the drive is a welcome distraction from the kids....god love them!

Take Care all!

Midweek Magnolias #4

Hello all you Magnolia fans!
Welcome to yet another MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  challenge!
I'd like to start by saying congrats to the winner and Magnolia Marvels from last challenge! Some really wonderful creations out here in blogland! Some real incredible inspiration!
Speaking of which, I am here to hopefully inspire you to try out next challenge which is another fabby sketch!

So for my card today, I've used Gymnastics Tilda from the Winner Takes All Collection. I bought this Tilda specifically because my daughter is in gymnastics {however may not be continuing after this year due to a shortage of coaches : (  }. My sentiment "FUN" is a chipboard piece and the ribbon attached to it is recycled from a creation sent to me by a fellow blogger! I love to recycle rather than discard!
My other sentiment is an acetate type paper word from a collection i bought ages ago.
I embossed the pink paper behind Tilda with swirls.

I am going to be posting this creation over at my alter ego blog Steel Magnolias...where you will find creations from my other friends as well! Alot of inspiration in one place !

Here's a few pics of my kiddos at their final gymnastics performance!
Here my daughter is doing the splits on the beam and below she is finishing off with a round off! I almost flipped off my chair when she did that! LOL

Here's her and her partner, doing their back bends!

And let's not forget about my son! Doing a sommersault.
And below, he's walking on the beam and finishing off with some parellel bars!

Pls don't forget to give the other MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  some love!

Sketch Saturday GDT week 4

OMGOSH I am still having a blast with the ladies over at the  Sketch Saturday  Challenge blog.
Yes, today I bring you another fantastic sketch!
K, got it!?

Now here's my take using a dig from Mo's Digital Pencil Too called Tom & Tilly.
I made this card specifically for my next door neighbors who celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Sixty One Years!
Wow!
That's an accomplishment indeed!
The DP are from a SU 6X6 paper pack I got EONS ago. i put some jute in the center & added an abundance of kraft swirls and a tag. The sentiment is from Kim's JUST WORDZ Everyday Sentiment set.
I added some liquid pearls to the corners. The jute ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

Hope to see you at the Sketch Saturday Challenge this week.

Challenges for my card:
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge- bling it on (liquid pearls is that enough?)
CardMadFairy's Digi DAys- use a sentiment
Stampin for the Wknd- anything goes
365 cards- color scheme
(ok the yellow is stretching it)

Latest Venture- need opinions?!

YUP, you guessed it, I am officially a Scentsy Consultant!!

If you are anything like I was, I thought "what is Scentsy?".
Well is is all of these pics below!

Warmers

(they come in 3 different sizes, many, many different styles)

Plug in Warmers

Scentsy Bars

(80 different scents)
I found out about Scentsy while doing one of my agency nursing stints! Someone was having a party and I saw the catalogue.........picked it up.......looked at it ..........and immediately thought.........
"I could totally sell this, heck it sells itself, I'm already sold".
Within 24 hrs I was a consultant and it has been amazing ever since! LOL
That was 18 days ago!!
Only 18 days and I've never smiled so much in all my life.
I got my consultant kit, put in my first order, got extra stash for myself so I have lotsa stuff to present at parties!
I have a friend doing an online party and I have my official launch party this Saturday March 24 at 6 pm! I'm so excited! I already have 2 more guaranteed parties to book at mine!!
And all the while, I'm making commission! Which I didn't even know about!
YAHOO! More money for crafty goodies! LOL

This is the general idea behind the warmers........
A lightbulb inside the warmer, heats up the wax, on the top dish of the warmer, once it is plugged in!
Flameless, Soot Free & the wax never looses it's volume nor heats up enough to burn!
Having 3 kids, I REALLY liked this idea!!
And another thing......
IT"S AFORDABLE!
A great gift. For yourself. Or a friend!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BUYING SOME SCENTSY?
Check out my website
Under the Buy section you will see 2 parties, one is mine and one is my friends.
Should you want to order online, feel free to do so!?!>

OR feel free to just browse the catalogue

My question to you was whether or not you would follow me if I made a blog strictly devoted to Scentsy, so you can see the newest products and sale items!??!

Now I must rush off, i'm at the tail end of a night shift and I need to finish up so I can get home, take a nap and spend the rest of the day cleaning for my party tomorrow! YAY!

Talk Soon!

Midweek Magnolias #3

A little update- The pancake breakfast fundraiser that we did for the Village Green Playstructure brought in $1800.00 (Canadian). It was so fun. The weather was great! My daughter and a couple other kids that were there were jumping up & down outside advertising it! Here's a snapshot!

My daughter is in the green hat!

And a couple of our volunteers! Thanks guys. In case your wondering, that is in fact Roberta (in the black) from PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS!

ONTO OUR CHALLENGE:

I just love how more and more people each week, come and find our challenge!
What a great feeling, and it's not just because of us, it's because of all of you, making creations and playing along with our challenge!! Thanks so much!!

Speaking of which, let's get to this weeks theme over at the MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  Challenge, shall we:

1 RIBBON
2 PEARLS
3 FLOWERS

Maybe you think I'm a bit sneaky here, but truly there is only 1 ribbon used......however I DID use it 3 times! Sneaky I know! My pearls are in the ribbon center and in the center of my 3 layered flowers. I sprinkled some purple tinted confetti to the butterfly edge.
This is yet another butterfly shape for the wall hanging that is SLOWLY coming together for my daughter's room! Forgive me,I don't even know what the name of this Tilda is!!?>
Can you tell I'm trying to work on my light source coloring! Tricky, I tell ya!

PS- We are also having a GDT call !! Interested! Go enter and put GDT behind your name!! Quickly! Go!

I will be posting my butterfly over at the Steel Magnolias blog. For tons of more Magnolia inspiration, you must hop over there to take a look around!

PSS- the Let's Ink It Up Challenge is open for a few more days as well.

We sure hope you can come join in our recipe this week! We'd love to sample your creations at the MIDWEEK MAGNOLIAS  !!

The Sketchy Challenges- Yup I'm BAAaack!!

*******
First of all............850 followers *jaw dropping*.....how humbled am I!
Hello to all my new followers. I'm glad you 've come to visit.
I feel a candy comin' on soon.
BUT just for followers!

***********
Secondly, as you read this I am serving pancakes to my local community members as a fundraiser toward a New PlayStucture for our Village Green. The old one was not worth saving so it was suddenly torn down, causing my daughter to shed some silent tears as we drove by the park one day and there it was, or rather wasn't.....an empty space. So I have made it my mission to get on the committee to raise funds for a new one and the PANCAKE BREAKY was MY undertaking!
Wish us luck that we can raise lotsa moola!!

*********************

Thirdly......................
Surprise!!
I'm back to being a Sketchy girl!
I'm so excited they accepted my begging and pleading!
I just couldn't do without these girlies!

This fortnight begins a new challenge at The Sketchy Challenges and guess what, IT"S MY SKETCH!!
Something I whipped up, bing, bang boom.....done!
I hope you like it.

Oh and before I forget, our sponsor this fortnight is The Paper Shelter with this very generous prize!!!
Seriously, they have some of the CUTEST images EVA!!

So here's the sketch .....teehee....actually MY SKETCH....using The Final Touch form The Paper Shelter. I have since given this card to my mom, it was her birthday on the 16th and we went out to her fave restaurant to eat........RED LOBSTER!! yum yum.

I added crystal effects to the cherries and some frosted stickles to the "whipping cream". Colored with copics and used some fabby materials that I got from the sweet Eulanda, that I won from her candy draw! I added some cheesecloth, buttons with ribbon, a chipboard heard I dusted with tattered rose crackle paint and then I added some liquid pearls to it. Faux stitching and voila! Done!

Thanks for stopping by!
