Some Odd Girl- Hol-ODD-day blog hop!

Welcome to the 1st EVA Some Odd Girl Hol-ODD-day Blog Hop!
We're having this hop to not only show some love for all our Oddies this holiday season but to have a hop that includes them! So graba cuppa joe (or whatever you like to sip on ) & a piece of toast (or whatever you like to nibble on ) & take a hop thru our list!
Make sure to leave comments at every stop because the Odd Girls have some prizes to give away to celebrate but you have to complete the list to be entered.
(Winners will be announced on their blogs on Dec 2)

We started at the Some Odd Girl Blog & are ending up at Kristy's blog & I am SURE along the way you'll see some amazing projects! You should have arrived from Leah's blog, if not...then start at the beginning to complete the hop & get in on all the action!

When I heard that Kristy was looking for interested parties to be in her hop, I was more than willing to participate, cuz I just fell head over heels for all of her Odd creations!!
For my inspirational card today, I have used Elf Kaylee!! Isn't she the most cutest thing eva?!
Dontcha just wanna give her a little smooch?
Ok enough small talk!! lol
I used my BFF's paper pack because I just didn't have the perfect holiday paper that would show Kaylee off as much as she deserved to be.
The doily behind Kayle is actually a cloth doily. I got it (& a whole bunch more just like it) from our local fabric store that was going out of business. I added ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbons, to the doily edge & used a sentiment from Prairie Fairy Designs.

Now in case you get lost along your merry-hopping-way, here's the list to refer to.

Your next stop in the hop is Sally's blog. Thanks for hoppin by!

Heck while your hopping, you may as well hop over to the Some Odd Girl Store......where there are some great new releases to be found & a sale on Tiny Tia going on!!
AND don't forget about the new Some Odd Girl Challenge starting Thursday Dec 2!

Notice how a 'crafter' might like these little treats?
I put random stuffs from my supply in these little beauties, just to show you how they can be used. You can see more treats stuck in these little holders at the link above as well.

their quote:
"This is a great project for a quick hostess or teacher's gift, for little treats as well as gift cards (tucked behind the peppermints), or even as birthday party favors. It's so fun that the kids can make these themselves for a craft! As you can see, tea bags fit perfectly into a 6x6 size. Follow the same directions to create 8x8 treat holders to accommodate hot chocolate packets and bigger snacks."

Nope, no stamping.....not one stitch!!! Ahhh......feels nice!!

Second post for today
********************

Oh my goodness..............I can't believe this is my last post for the Digi's With Attitude! Challenge blog as one of their GDTs!!
I have had such a great time working with these wonderful ladies & fantastic images by Cindy-Lynn!!
Thanks so much for having me!!!
I may just have to apply again in the future!!

Our Challenge this week is a COLOR challenge-

I have chosen to use the image Tres Chic! A new November release!! When I saw it I knew I just had to have it.......as I have two dogs of my own, I often walk them in my high heels and saucy dress!! Bwawwahhaa!
NO NOT REALLY!!
But I do usually have this look on my face!!
Now don't laugh at my sentiment. I had good intentions when I chose it for my card, but once I had it all placed together I realized the 'leave a trail' could be misleading (with the dog & all).
So read it as you want......I truly meant for it to inspire you!
The sentiment by the way is from Sentimental Sundays: where every Sunday with thier challenges, they give away free sentiments to download!!

Flowers are from WOC & glittery silver ric rak is from Really Reasonable Ribbons!

You don't miss out on a chance to win these cute, grumpy images ......

Stamping Vacation DT- CAS RECIPE.....

First post for today
******************

As you read this I am on my way to the USA for a mini-family-vaca/Christmas/Craft Shopping trip!!
Hope the scheduled post works
*****************************************************

At the Stamping Vacation, where we have TONS of challenges, we have a new CAS recipe for you.

KRAFT, RED & A TOUCH OF LACE

I don't own any kraft, but hope to change that very soon, so I took some brown packing paper & scrunched it up & opened it up about 5 times in order to get this rough, distressed look. Then I sponged some brown (looks yellow) ink pad over it. I don't know about you but the CTMH browns are crap!! lol (no pun intended) I much prefer my SU browns!

I'm sorry but I also added pearls.....just did n't look finished enough until I added them.
Sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers whom are also our sponsor for this month!
Get your entries into any of the number of challenges listed on the left hand side of the Stamping Vacation blog for a chance to be in the running to recieve a $25.00 gift cert to Marks Finest Papers as well as 4 of their Dec. stamp sets!!

Challenges for my card:
Sentimental Sundays- Be thankful
Papertake Weekly- cut it out
Paper Playtime- be thankful

Excitement, tops & A SALE !!

At Incy Wincy last week I got top 3 for this card!

*******************************

I also won at The Crafty Pad for the special draw they have for cards using their images!
This is the card that won!

*************************************

I also just found out I won at Mrs. Sugar's Die Cut Dreams Challenge for my drawer box creation!!
WoO HOO!!

**************************************************

Finally at the Die Cuts r Us (store) they are having sale.
What kind of sale you ask?

I have been to shop at their store and it is Fabulous!!!
I love their papers, especially their 6X6 Sampler packs that are a portion of the cost of their Regular 6X6 paper packs. There are only a few papers in these sampler packs but it gives you a feel for whether or not you actually like the paper!
There's nothing more frustrating than hating a paper pack!!
LOL (like that ever happens!! )

To help spread the word, A Crafty Little Place is giving away this Zutter Bind It All Machine to one lucky winner who posts about their sale on their blogs (NOT their sidebars)!!!

************************************************

Almost forgot.
At Crafty Cardmakers, today, is the start of a new spotlight challenge......
Fancy Containers!!!
We also still have our regular challenge of card & matching gift set on.
So head on over to see what all the prizes are!

************************************************

COUNTDOWN IS ON!
4 more days until we go on our family va-ca/Christmas-Craft Shopping spree!!!
Woo HOO!! Ya baby!!
In preparations for this, I am not going to have much activity on my blog this week. Just pre-scheduled posts starting Friday---hopefully they work!!

Hope you all have a good week.

You've got to have a ton of those things lying around, I'm sure of it!!

This image, however, is not new, but I love it nonetheless!
It is called Mistltoe Kisses!

Ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbons, buttons are from our closing down fabric store and bling is from Dollarama. I added crystal effect to her glasses to make them shine & added glitter whereever I could!

This is Gretchen the Cheerleader. She looks quite grumpy holding her little pom-poms...doesn't she!!
 I LOVE IT!!
I was gonna make a card for my daughter but her gymnastics colors are red & black, & her soccer color is grey......so needless to say, instead of passing up these gorgeous My Grafico papers that were supplied to us, I made a pink & green creation, which matched the ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbons PERFECTLY!!
Woo HOO!! Now I'm cheering!

The large pink diecut shape is from the Die Cut Dreams Store & the sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe; I just used my tag pucnh to cut it out!
The  green bling and flowers in the corner are purchases from various places so long ago, I can't even recall where they came from!!
The W-I-N letters are from Micheals!!

Stamping Vacation DT- To Who Challenge

At Stamping Vacation for the next month, the "TO WHO" challenge is :

SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A PRAYER.

If there is one thing I don't have enough of it's get well/sympathy cards!
I used a stamp from Marks Finest Papers.
They are sponsoring Stamping Vacation this month so head on over & check out their stuff in case you are the lucky winner!
The sentiment is SU.
Raffia Ribbon is from Bunny Zoes Crafts.
I tried to mimick Kraft paper (since I don't own any) by using some brown packing paper and scrunching it up numerous times.
I also rock & rolled the stamped image with two different colors of ink, pink & red, so although it looks like I fogot spots.....that's the look I was going for!

Head on over to the Stamping Vacation Blog for a chance at any of the challenges listed on the left hand side. They all last one month and we just started a fun new game called:
"Inspiration Tag" (on until Dec 5)
--where you take a couple elements off of Denise's card & create your own card, blog about it & link it to the above link, in order to get in on a $25.00 gift cert to a store of your choice. OH YA, don't forget to give credit to Denise for the elements you lift from her card to inspire yours!!  Who knows someone may lift elements off your card and you've then inspired them to create a masterpiece.
Thus the name "Inspiration Tag"

Challenges for my card:
Charisma Cardz- sympathy
Daring Cardmakers- time to remember
Paper Players- color challenge (see below)

Crafty Cardmakers DT- Card & matching gift set !

At Crafty Cardmakers for the next two weeks we want to see:

A CARD & MATCHING GIFT set!

Now , tell me, how creative can you get with this one.
A matching suitcase,
a matching explosion box,
a matching gift card holder.....
........whatever it is you chose, make sure it matches the card you make!!!

Luckily, I had mine already prepared a few months ago. NEVER BLOGGED! Don't fret, you didn't miss it!!
I made this set for a fellow blogger/friend/fairy for her birthday.
The image is Prairie Fairy Designs called "The Urge"....bwhaahaaa....the urge to what right?

ABOVE-
I used a salmony paper color with a darker base paper and used my SU border punch.
I cut a doily in half & slid it in underneath the image and my scallp punch to make the other scallopy looking half circle things that I then smothered in pearls!
I also added glitter to her robe & slippers as well as crystal effects to her glasses.

BELOW-
Scallop punch & pearls out the ying-yang again .....with a different image from the Prairie Fairy called "Gerry's Birthday set". It's a set of  3 images (a giraffe, a cake & presents). I snagged the presents & ran as fast as I could.
What I made here is a little "Peek-a-boo" box. I got the tutorial off of splitcoaststampers for another challenge & simply had to try it out!

The sentiment on the inside says
"Did someone turn the heat up in here....
.....or is it just the candles on your cake?" (badum-bum)

WOOHOO.
Can't wait to see what you create for our challenge this fortnight.
Don't forget if you use some dry embossing, you can also enter your creation into the spotlight challenge at Crafty Cardmakers with is being sponsored by the Prairie Fairy herself!!!

Challenges for my set:

Cute Card Thursday- anything goes
Stamp Insanity- oh scrap (Pink scallops are my scrap papers)
Paper Sundaes- toppings are punch & ribbon
