It's bound to come in 3's..............

I've got a bit of rambling for you today.
You know how they say (bad) things happen in 3's......well, I've got two down.

The first was that I had the worst day at work yesterday. The worst day in 5 yrs of nursing. It left me feeling disheartened, sad & frustrated. For the first time since my short nursing career had started, I just wanted to run away from that building & never look back. I just wanted to run home & hug my family like I've never hugged them before. I just wanted to crawl into bed with my kids & tell them how much they mean to me.Kiss them & tell them I love them. Sometimes I really hate my job & as I cried myself to sleep last night, I knew I had to awaken with a brighter outlook.....for myself & my family. That's life. Things happen. I did my best.....we all did.....now it's time to move on! One day perhaps I'll be able to share the details of this day with you, but today is not the day. Time to look forward.

*********************************

So I wake up today to check my e-mails and get a startling e-mail from a lady in the Netherlands who is pissed off that I took a blog candy away from her.
Her e-mail:

Hello corry
you have my price of candy unfair won!
you were not even registered for the candy, so like, I see that you send to me the candy!
and hope that you are so honest to do that.
Greetings
corry the winner

of corryskaartblogspotnl.blogspot.com

I was in shock so went to google to find her blog and there it was for all blogland to see.......her accusing me of 'stealing' her candy. Talk about kicking a girl while she's down, right. So in all fairness. let me share both sides of the story to you. There was a candy at stempelientje that I thought I had won (see my response below) when in acutality it was not me...in fact it was this lady...but here is what she wrote on her blog
.....Here's her blog:  stating this: This is what hurt the most:

good afternoon ladies, like to send a message to you!
a message for people who give away candy.
I'm very disappointed today, I read datr candy I won at stempelientje
That year corry from canada has claimed the candy.
while she was not enrolled for the candy.
something you would not expect from fellow bloggers?
I hope that people with something to have a candy?
I was so happy that I said to my husband that I first had won a prize and then this!
Sorry I just wanted to vent my heart but it was / is me cross anyway!
everyone a nice weekend and a nice greeting from Corry

update- Corry has since removed this post from her blog.
Now anyone who knows me, knows that I am the most honest person in the world. Sometimes too honest....to a fault. I see a quarter on the ground, I can't even put it in my pocket, cuz it's not mine. I was so upset by this e-mail......

.....I sent her this response on her blog:

Hello Corry.
Oh my goodness. I did not even realize that this was not me.First of all let me express the utmost of confusion in your e-mail. I couldn't understand it and spent about a half an hour trying to translate it, then I spent another while trying to track you down!! holy cow. I am so sorry about this.
A blogger friend of mine e-mailed me and said "you won the candy over at stempelientje"....I remember thinking....."who is that?" then when I went there and saw my name I was so excited. I sent my info and everything, still thinking it was me, even when I went to look at the entrants of the candy, I saw my name & DIDN'T even think to click the link......I feel horribly and I most definitely WILL BE sending the package onto you when I get it. I apologize profusely for this confusion....it was not my intention to 'steal' a candy underhandedly & the fact that you are portraying me as some sort of 'fake' is horrible, considering YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW ME! I am posting this on my blog, as well so people can see my response to youR words about a fellow blogger that you don't even know. Again, I will pass on the package to you when it arrives and I will also be contacting stempelientje to inform her of the mistake. Pls accept my apologies and please remember that people make mistakes and this was one of them. I've never met anyone with the EXACT same NAME SPELLING as mine. Whether or not you choose to post this comment on your blog will speak volumes of your character! Thanks for understanding.

Corry from Canada (pls feel free to check this comment out on my blog)

Whatever.............once again, life goes on. I am sooooo not in the crafty mood, perhaps I'll just sit & steal candies all day long! lol

************************

Now when's that 3rd bad thing gonna happen?

Aww! Corry, can't believe the couple of days you've had hun. I know that you care so much about nursing and this is why it has upset you so much. Wish I could give you a really big hug as you're such a darling and they broke the mould when they made you Corry. My very lovely blog buddy. :o) As for the candy mix up, we all know that it was a geniune mistake and cannot believe how much of fuss has been made. Try and keep your chin up chick and go and cuddle one of your little darlings, that will make you feel better.

Big Hugs

I just saw the name Corry, and not being such a common name I immediately thought it was you and felt so happy that I just emailed you to let you know.. I never in my mind thought to check if it was really you or not! Please forgive me for this mess-up, which I started, I never meant anything wrong xxx

Corry we all know you're a great person, so this will sort its self out. Sorry to hear about the bad day at work, but you must get in a craft mood, I am only good for 1 day a month or two and this is it. Even cancelled my golf tourney, I want to see your full crafty happy self tonight! On a lighter note. I hate it when I see Lori as a winner and I click and it's not me, total bummer...lol!

I'm sorry to hear about the blog candy confusion, but I do think - as bloggers who host giveaways - WE need to do a better job of it. To help stop things like this. And if we post a candy - and a closing date, WE need to do what we say and get the candy out quickly. WE need to follow up with emails to the winners and do a little checking ourselves. Since these are usually open worldwide, of course the names may be duplicated!
I'm so glad to see the hosting site telling you to keep it, and I hope she wrote the other person to explain how she set up her rules (she said they didn't email in time anyway!) ENJOY your candy - and I hope #3 never happens!

wow. It is a sad sad world when what you wrote does not surprise me in the least. First my heart goes out to you for being in the nursing field. It is a job I could never do. So good for you for continuing to go to work each and everyday no matter how hard, frustrating or heartbreaking it is! Second of all that is so horrible that someone made a mistake. I would do the same thing if I saw my name. It is just too bad that she did not contact the hoster or you in private and deal with it that way. But I think that it has become the norm to yell and complain first before having a conversation to get something taking care of. I hope your days only get better!

Hello Corry,
I really do feel for you, first a rubbish day at work (which I dread to think what happened to you) then this silly mistake which has been totally blown out of proportion by this other Corry, how silly why couldn't she have just sent you a polite email explaining what has happened, you just don't need that on top of your day do you? Why can't people think about other peoples feelings before they get mouthy? I know she doesn't know what you've been through but she should still think before she speaks!
I do hope things pick up for you and don't let this silly person get you down.
Take care, love & hugs Teresa xx

Oh WOW Corrygate is in full swing!! Poor you it hasn't been a good time as it. I haven't known you long Cor, nor do I know you well, but its easy to see that with you, what you see is what you get, a direct person with whom you know exactly where you stand, I know that you could never do something like that.
Unfortunately there are some very ignorant people in this world and it seems like you just found one!
Don't waste your time worrying.
And nursing must be the hardest job on the planet I admire you so much because I know I couldn't do it
Take care Cor
Big Hug Laurie x

A bad day at work followed by more troubles when you get home is enough to discourage anyone but things will all work out in the end. Some lovin' and hugs from your babies, a nice cuddle from your better half and nice hot cuppa' will usually make the world seem a little better. A big {Hug} from me too! I hope your weekend goes a little better. You certainly have a lot of great supportive friends here in blogland! :)

Corry I hope your day today was 100% better. I am sure you did everything that you could.
That is awful how she accused you of stealing her candy. What a great post hang in there and I hope things get better for you!

So sorry you have had such bad days. I can understand how easily you the blog candy mix up could happen. She should have left a nice message for you if she had a problem and given you the benefit of the doubt. When I win a blog candy I don't hold out hope for it. If I get it,it is an unexpected blessing and if they never send it (which I have had happen alot) I let it go. It isn't worth my worrying over. Hope things get better.

Kimberly said...

Oh My Goodness, i can't believe she attacked you like that without even trying to get a hold of you to fix the mixup...It's so easy for this to happen, I enter many blog candy's and i don't know how many times i see my name in the winners circle and think it's me but turns out not....WOW unbelievable....that's all i can say, cause you know us Canadians we are always so sorry, if things go wrong..

:P oh Corry! who'd have thought a candy win could ever cause such a dilemma!! I hope everything's sorted :) ♥

Eulanda said...

OK ummm OMG where do I even start?! Oh I KNOW! You really DID win my blog candy!!! LMAO!! It's nice that the lady apologized but it's too bad she reacted before calming down and simply emailing the host of the blog candy to sort out the confusion. Oh and I'm pretty sure that if you looked hard enough your #3 already happened. It's just minimized because #1 & #2 were big. Well that's my story and it would work for me. hee hee Sorry you had such a shitty day at work. It takes a special kind of person to be in the profession you are in. I certainly couldn't do it. I was a medical office assistant for a year and said no freakin way!! I quit!! So even tho you aren't my nurse, I thank you for all the people out there who never got the chance. I'm sure they truly appreciated it!! I hope you had a better day today. Hugs!

Well Cor, they always say, 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'. Both are sad stories and chalk it up to life experiences and hopefully things get better and the 'third' incident doesn't happen.

Oh, wow, Corry! What a drag that this happened just after your horrible day at work! Bad things do seem to happen in 3s sometimes but good things do too! I had 3 pieces of wonderful news first thing this morning. It's my hope that your misfortune ended with the second thing since you haven't posted about anything else bad happening since then. The important thing is that you don't take either incident personally. Neither of them was your fault.

I have been wandering around your blog, viewing your marvelous work and I am so pleased to be on the DT with you! It seems we share a couple of crafty friends too! How awesome is that?

Hugs,
Anne (aka Anniebee)
