Some Odd Blingy, bling, bling

Happy New Year! Yay! Are you about sick of hearing "happy new year" already!?! Me too! LOL Well this is officially my first card for the new year! And it's for the Some Odd Girl  Challenge!
Wanna know what we wanna see!?>!
This fortnight, we want to see.....................
LOTS O BLING!
At least two types.
Glitter, pearls, rhinestones, spritzing, spraying, foiling.........you name it. We want to see your bling !
Can you spot mine!?
I've gots pearls, gems, stickles and glittery white base cardstock. I've used In Stitches Tia clear stamp set available at the Some Odd Girl Store NOW!! I stamped her onto a heart shaped puzzle, yes the pieces came apart as I attempted to put this entire card together and thought it looked kinda neat; thus the little gaping area on the top right of the heart near the spool of thread. Then I went in & added some stitching to hold my heart together to go with the whole theme.

Overall I am pleased with how she came out! I colored her entirely with COPICS ! My Christmas present to myself (from hubby-lol). I have about 1/4 of the set now! BWahhaa!! I'm still happy with that!

OOOoooooooooooo I have a funny story to share. While making this card I was all set to use one of my die cut heart shapes and as I was running it thru my cuttlebug (with some paper shims) like this: (note the wee arrow pointing there)............

.........I heard a big "WHAP" & the side of the cuttlebug popped off. Like a cap! POP! I screamed. There were the gears! Hubby came running & at first we couldn't figure out why this had happened then upon further inspection we noticed this ........... a gaping connection! I busted my 'bug'!! (boohoo! )

The circular areas there are screw holes hubby tried a couple of "Macguiver" techniques to hold it together but I'm sorry to say, my bug is done! D-O-N-E....done!

I am now accepting donations for a new one! LOL
Not really, perhaps hubby will buy me one today when he gets paid!

Anyways, one last shot of the card that killed my bug!

There you have it, a how to break your bug....uh....hmmm....glitter up your project blog post! teehee!
We hope to see your GLITTER, SPARKLE & BLING at the SOG blog over the next couple weeks!

*******************************************
Don't forget to check out the Nouveau Girls Blog for some Nouveau inspiration! It's been pretty quiet over there for a while, but rest assured with the current SOG DT call, the pace will be picking up tremendously!

This card will be posted at my online galleries:

Happy New Year!! (kidding of course...just had to throw that in there)! Love the puzzle piece heart...way too ingenious and of course your coloring is awesome! So glad you're treating yourself to some more of the crack (you deserve it), and so much more useful than Keurig!!! I swear my bug is going to snap like that one day the way I cram stuff in there!

BROL!! LMAO!! OMG you make me laugh right out loud!! I HAD to read this to hubby and he thought it was funny too. He even knows you had too many shims in and that you were trying to make a real "crisp clean cut". BROL! A man who pays attention! I'm sorry your misfortune made my laugh but on the great side you get a new cutter. Maybe try out the new fancy schmancy TH electric one. Ok really?!! Thanks for sharing that one!! Hugs!

I seen your card over at the SOG blog Cor and never did get a chance to stop by...so rude of me!! But you did a really amazing job on this one and so very creative with the stitching! I meant to stop by and ask you about the heart? Did you buy it like that or do you have a special die that makes things into a puzzle??

That is really kinda scary the way you broke your bug like that!! I would have screamed too! Because those parts are heavy and they could have landed anywhere...opens my up real quick to not add too many shims! I do it all the time and strain the thing, but no more! At least you got a new one though!

Big Hugz,
xx Tracey xx
