Reduce, Reuse, RECYCLE !

It's that time again.............Fairy Fun Fridays, where the theme is RECYCLE.
That seems to be the theme around our house lately too. Cleaning out my daughters room allowed us to recycle a bunch of unsed clothes & toys. Reorganizing her room & our dining room is allowing us to reuse furniture from different parts of the house.
(I've realized my main goal in life is to fit as much furniture into each & every crevace of our house!- hubby both loves that & hates that about me.........my incessant need to reorganize things! )

Onto my project.
You take an empty ice-cream pail (eat the ice cream, dump the ice-cream...I don't care [I won't tell! ] ) & you turn it into a ribbon holder. I use this for my ribbon reminants that are too small to stay with the big spools, thereby allowing me to see all my ribbon at one glance.
I used my cropadile to make holes & place large eyelets on the edge of the lid in order to fit the ribbon thru. I tied a loose knot at the end of each ribbon piece, so when I need it, I can just undo the knot & cut away.

I added paper to the lid and around the base & a couple ribbons to the sides to make it look all PERDY!!
The images I used are from Prairie Fairy Designs & are called Sketchy Bugs. I decided to use them after placing my cute little butterfly into my holder. AH HA- that is another thing I reused.....the butterfly is from some flowers my daughter bought for me for my birthday/mother's day.

Finally, a little hint about my butterfly. I used a couple little foamy pieces (see below) to hold it in place in the bottom of my ribbon holder. I hot glue gunned the pieces together, then hot glue gunned them to the bottom of the pail.  These pieces are from some waterproof matting we have in our basement.

Sure hope you hop on over to Fairy Fun Fridays & take part in this challenge for a chance to win some digi-images from the Prairie Fairy. Can't wait to see your projects!

Corry, great idea and I love how you embellished it. I have one question, how many of these pails do you have? One wouldn't hold all of mine.

Super clever idea, Corry! Cute and practical. I am always struggling to find ways to organize/store my ribbon. I think I'll have to give this a try!
