Look Ma, no cheesecloth.......

...........or lace or doilies.......OMG.......what DID I use for my card then is what you are probly wondering right!?!
Well I used this Scarecrow Tilda that I am madly in love with to make a birthday card for my friend. Belated albeit, but still made nonetheless hey!?!?
I used a couple challenges to inspire me. At TOMIC they want you to make your own background paper, so I took the liberty of digging out some of my SU sets & using various ink colors to stamp on a piece of kraft paper. With a bit of distressing & sponging with Antique Linen distrss ink, I think it turned out pretty good. I added some stamped swirls to the paper beside Tilda too! At the Magnolialicious Highlights blog they want so see some rich fall colors. All the while I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday.....although I totally flipped it upside down!?!!> heehee

All the ribbons (jute & leaves) are from Really Reasonable Ribbons & the butterfly flower pegs & larger leaves are from Dollarama. The word 'happy' is from my JUSTWORDZ stamp set!

Hope everyone had a successful start to the first day of school (here in Canada anyways).
We kinda started off on the wrong foot.
We missed the bus! LOL
It was just my daughter who started today & I guess I shoulda pushed her out the door at 8:15 am cuz the bus driver DID SAY she'd be here at 8:25 am! Lesson learned. I sure hope her day gets better!
Grade 5 already. Geesh......where does the time go!?!?

Challenges for my card:
TOMIC- make your own background
Flutterby Wednesdays- open
ATS Magnolia Challenge- stretch your imagination
Magnolialicious Highlites blog- Autumn/Fall colors
Sketch Saturday- sketch (see below)- I flipped it right upside down!
