KODA update

Scroll down or CLICK HERE for my JUSTWORDZ blog hop

**************************

Hopefully the video above shows up for you.
It is of Koda.
She has come so far.
To recap: my 6 yr old, 8lbs (soaking wet) female shih-tzu went from an active healthy pup to a paralyzed helpless pup in just 24 hrs. She became incontinent of pee all over the place & I had to help her move her bowels. She developed a bladder infection from decreased appetite & motivation to drink anything. She drug lifeless hind legs around with her front legs as much as her strength would allow! She never gave up!!

*********************
Thanks to the support of friends & family & thru the Amazing Social Network Facebook- a friend/co-worker told me of a true miracle worker (Dr. Hamilton) who has been able to aid our puppy to walk again, after just 3 treatments of acupuncture, dry needling, herbal injections & canine rehab!!
She's walking like her bum is 'drunk again' ....but she can only get better from here; however she will always have back problems.
She is no longer peeing all over the place & she is able to move her bowels by herself. She makes her way to the door when she needs to go outside......just like before. Her personality is back 100%....wanting to play, eating like crazy & trying to play with her sister (our other shih-tzu) Roxy.......although Roxy,  is kinda afraid of Koda, since she hasn't really been physically active for about 3 weeks.....now that Koda wants to play, Roxy is freaked right out!!

*********************************

We are taking it day by day. We do rehab with Koda at home, daily as per the vet's instructions. We have a 4th treatment for Koda in 1.5 weeks.

Let me tell you, I am definitely NOT THRU with the original vet (Selkirk Animal Hospital) who told us our puppy would need further tests & surgery in another province starting at a minimum cost of $3000.00!!! Have I got some words for them..............& not very nice words either.
Some people may say "ah, leave well enough alone", but what those people don't understand is that Dr. Hamilton (where we are taking Koda for the alternative medicine treatments) worked at the Selkirk Animal Hospital for 18 yrs!!!!
18 years!
She started doing acupuncture while working at the Animal Hospital.
They know what she does!!!
Why was she not recommended to me!!!!
Uh.....the nerve!!!

Anywho.............Thanks for staying tuned with the "Dog Life & Times of Koda Smyrski"!!

I am so happy for your little Koda. She is gorgeous and looks like she is very much loved. I think we live in the same area and will make sure not to go there. (not that I use a vet all that often) Good luck Koda!
